Prototypes: Super Hero RP

G'day Forum RP go-ers! This is a collaberated project between myself and SamuelT. We'll both be the GM's on it, and play along with you as well.

[small]All credit to the story goes to Samuel, the cheeky monkey![/small]

Opening plot:

The Soviet-Union was experimenting with the 90% of the brain left unused. By jolting only five percent a human would gain exeptional thinking-capacity and strength. The SU thought they had created the ultimate soldier. But after they left the 5% border and started with 20%, the subjects became relentless and unforgiving. The more the brain was activated, the less the human nature of the subject became.

They stopped the project. But five geneticists wouldn't let the project go. They went for the full 100%. The subjects were turned in super-human monsters. They could control elements, physics, electronic and whatnot. These were the results of only 2 subjects. The remaining 5, seven in total, were frozen in cryo-stasis, which stopped them from ageing. After the cold-war the project was deemed classified and not looked upon since. The labs and chambers used were left to decay. But in recent time the monitors showed an increase in Brain waves and heart-beat. No one was there to monitor the situation. Several cracks could be seen on the glass of Subject #4.

After the military shut down the operation through force, the subjects were left in place. After the subjects were somehow released, all personal guarding the facility were killed and the subjects were not found. They are supposedly in hiding, and living out normal lives in secrecy.

Rules:

Subject #4 is the limit. Obviously the entire RP is centered around powers, but we can't have somebody saying "I pwn noobs in one shot with my mind".

You can do as you like, it's an RP after all, but there is a basic plot. Therefore at some points we'll all have to be playing alongside each other. Myself and the other two GM's will guide us along and nudge you in the right direction when we need to though, so don't worry.

Notes:

We're all super-powered here, but we can die. If you want to drop out of the RP at any point, you can simply kill off your character.

There are only 7 slots, as there are only seven characters. Three of these are definitely filled already. After the slots are filled, thats it. In the future, we may make some more slots available so check back often.

Disclaimer:

Although Prototypes is a standalone storyline, it is indeed part of a series, which should hopefully progress. Whereas the characters in this RP are part of a bigger picture, they are not entirely the main characters. If anyone wants to reserve a part for future parts of the series, send either myself or Samuel a PM.

Current Characters:

Name: Samuel Theuns

Subject Number: #4

Gender: Male

Age: 22

Appearance: (see attached photo)

Past life: Subject lived as a normal college-student in the Netherlands. Successful as a freshman Advanced Physics. Subject was chosen because of matching DNA-code of hormones and adaptability of mind.

Powers: The reality as Samuel sees it consists out of strings. He can create and undo everything.

Scientist notes: Subject #4 has developed reality warping abilities with the 40-B Hormones. Can alter environment and body to his will to a limited degree. When strained too much, subject can injure or kill itself. Kept in cryogenic stasis until further notice.

Name: Robin "Sparrow" Everett

Subject Number: #2

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Appearance: Tall male, healthy, brunette with an athletic build.

Past life: Subject was working as a freelance writer when approached by the military to partake in the tests. Born in England, he had only recently moved to America and still bears a heavy Kentish accent. He was donned Sparrow by his friends, a play on his first name.

Powers: Sparrow can turn into anything he sees fit, but he his has boundries. He mainly shifts into animals, because of his fondness toward them. He cannot strain himself too much, as it causes great pain on his body.

Scientist notes: Subject #2 has limitless powers. He can shape into anything he wants to, but it seems that it puts strain on his body. He cannot change into anything too large either. Such a shame, but maybe if we alter his powers we can bypass this.

Name: Sarah Raneese

Subject Number: #3

Gender: Female

Age: 19

Appearance: Brown haired caucasian female. Has blue eyes and is fair skinned. Slim build and 5'5.

Past life: Student at UIC, excelled in math and biology as well as sports. Born and raised in Chicago to wealthy parents, Rachel and Johnathon Raneese. Father was an oil tycoon. Parents died soon after entering college in a plane crash, no other living relatives remain. Subject was chosen because of inheritance she received soon after parents died. Also chosen for her physical and mental capabilities.

Power: Ability to produce fire. The fire melts through anything and varies in color. The colors are orange, blue and white. When white fire is activated it slowly burns Sarah, her body is not yet accustomed to that high degree of heat.

Scientist notes:She is able to control the orange and blue fires but when she creates white flames she can no longer contain it and often times ends up hurting herself. She has burned and or melted almost everything in her containment cell. Further testing will be needed to see if she will ever be able to control the white flame.

Name: Reese Wilson

Subject Number: 10#

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Appearance: 5?10, Caucasian with messy brown hair, both eyes are different colours, the left is a lighting blue and the right a dark grey. Electric burns cover his hands. Stocky build.

Past Life: Born and raised in a small Scottish town, Reese quickly fell into gangs and after being attacked and left for dead next to a power station, he was found and taken into hospital. After recovering he was approached by people offering to ?make him better,? this was his induction to the program.

Power: Control over electricity, cannot create it by himself however. His body constantly flows with electricity and is electric to the touch. Can jump short distances through wall sockets and overload electric systems.

Scientist Notes: His body appears to be reliant on electricity to keep alive, when he runs low on electricity he becomes close to death, however when he is "overcharged" he becomes hard to contain and dangerously insane. Recommend giving him a small shock each day from a tazer to keep him alive and keep him from becoming overcharged, this should allow him to be controlled and contained effectively.

Name: Rosa Mardina

Subject Number: #12

Gender: Female

Age: 21

Appearance: Rosa is slim, attractive young woman with shoulder-length brown hair who stands at around 5"4'. She wears a blood-stained cloth around her eyes to conceal them, after she was made blind when her powers became unstable. Her body is somewhat frail and doesn't do well in extreme conditions, a disease means that her bones are very fragile, and they break easily, her arm is slightly disfigured because of this. Her eyes used to be green before they were burnt, and now only two charred circles remain. She wears a necklace given to her by her grand-mother which apparently brings good luck. A ring is still on her index finger, but she has no idea where it came from.

Past life: From what she can remember, Rosa used to hang around a flower-shop as a child, and often stared at the lilies, her mother's favourite flower. A small straight road led from her house to the edge of town, and beyond the border lay a grand city. Later in life Rosa turned her attention to studies, where she was adamant on becoming a barrister. For all of her life, Rosa dreamed of justice, but the world had proven that justice wasn't always served. Rosa cannot remember anything of recent years, her memory is all but lost.

Powers: Psychic control; telekinesis, possession, 'spirit-drain', explosive expulsion of kinetic energy.

Scientist's Notes: #12 is extremely dangerous when angered or scared, her powers become ridiculously more aggressive, and seem to extend far beyond her control. #7 must be kept calm at all times for the safety of staff. Always have a lullaby playing in her containment room, it seems to be the only thing that will sooth her.

Name: Sander Tramsczki

Subject Number: #42

Gender: Male

Age: 28

Appearance: Short dark-brown hair, blue eyes. Is caucasian, but has a darker-than-average complexion. Wears whatever clothes he has managed to get, but usually prefers dark jeans and a pullover. Is very self-confident and narcissistic.

Past life: A playboy before, he lived off his father's money for a long time, who was a massively successful enterpreneur. Past jobs had always been looked down at by him, as he saw no need. After years and years of support by his father, his father finally, one day, told him to find a steady income for himself. After he had to bear through a period of poverty and hunger, he finally managed to get a job as a dentist. After a short while, het got high on narcotics while being on work, and the gory results made his boss unbelievably angry and vicious. His boss took him to the outskirts of the city he lived in, and beat him up thoroughly, leaving him barely alive. He was found by a scientist, by pure coincidence, who took him right away, as he was unable to fight with the scientist.

Powers: Has extremely powerful telekinetic powers. Is able to manipulate air (more specifically, all the molecules in it), pressuring it so greatly that it takes on an almost solid state. Can make items pop out of existence, and create either a bigger or smaller exact copy of the item (though doesn't have to create a copy). After being injected with the serum, somehow gained extremely good fighting skills, especially with items/weapons.

Scientist notes:
So, my first subject. I wasn't quite sure what to do, either inject him right away, or let him first wake up. I decided to inject him as quickly as possible, to avoid any later hostility. After getting the injection, he started struggling, and I think that he floated for a moment. Very weird, I'll have to think about this one.
Over a month has passed, yet here I am. I've been extremely busy. Subject #42 has now gotten company. It's still limited to visual company, though. He hasn't shown any signs of the kind of superpowers I'd wait from a newly-injected. Quite the opposite from his companions.
Bad news. Subject #42 is now the only one left. All the other ones have shown exceptional powers, except for him. All of them have died. Except for him. Imagine that! The only one who doesn't show any promise, is the only one who has survived.
Ahh, the first day of the month, the first day of proper advancement. Instead of staring at everything with a blank stare with his pale face, subject has now gotten back his complexion, and can talk. I conversed with him, and I like him, he's a funny guy. Must keep a keen eye on him, he might even surprise me.
A new day, a new discovery. He seems to be a friendly fellow. Certainly eccentric, but friendly nonetheless. I let the subject walk around for a while, and even talk to my daughter. He exhibited a certain curiousity for her, which I found odd. My daughter was afraid of him, like she is of me. A pathetic child to have. No ambitions, no curiousity, no fearlesness. No nothing.
I haven't noticed any patterns in the behaviour he has shown, but subject seems to have some kind of mental defect. At certain points, he starts talking nonsense. And not just talking, it seems like he still retains his ability to talk, but not his ability to think. Starts acting unpreditably and randomly. It might be dangerous, I must be careful around him.
I've been monitoring him very carefully. Ever since he was able to talk, his powers have started showing up. One day, I slid him food on the ground. I was completely in awe, as subject #42 made it disappear, and created a slightly bigger, identical meal. It just popped out of existence, and the new meal popped into existence! Amazing!
Ahh, another New Year's Eve. In the morning, I was hit with a surprise. Some men in black suits came. I was lucky I let my daughter answer the door. I'm sure they were searching for me. I just knew it. They must have had their suspicions. I hid myself. I was so happy my daughter told me that I had disappeared, run away. I'm so proud of her. I'll buy her anything she wants. Subject #42 seemed to be very interested in them, though. Later that day, I went to visit my family. I checked everything, that everything was okay, and went out, to visit my family. If there's one day I never wanted to miss, it was New Year's Eve.
After I c-c-ccame back the next morning, I had made a grave mistake. When I opened the door, I almost froze in place. My daughter lay there, d-d-dd-dead. I ss-shouldn't have left her come b-back earlier than m-m-mme. I was sh-sh-shh-shocked, and I ran. My life is now r-ruined. I swear revenge on Subject #42. I swear, I will get him, and I will kill him, whatever it sta-I mean, takes. It's so..horr...horri..ble. *sounds of crying, and someone collapsing onto the ground*
I thought of leaving this whole Prototypes business behind, and running. I finally decided against it. Maybe I can get them to cooperate with me, and help me kill subject #42. I must find new subjects, and fast. Lots of them. Either way, subject #42 is now not my project anymore. I will never speak his name again, unless it's on his tombstone. Yeah, if I'll let that happen.

Name: Nikolai "Kolja" Sokolov

Subject Number: #63
Gender: Male
Age: 39
Appearance: (see attached photo)

Past life: Special Soviet Agent. High-ranking officer in Spetsnaz. Numerous commendations and awards for leadership, bravery and good conduct. Highly recommended by Soviet government for promotion. Suspected involvement in all Soviet-sponsored revolutions and coups d'etat.

Was involved in Soviet Nuclear Missile tests.

Thoroughly inspected by the KGB. Sensitive information was found, but all agents related to the case were terminated.

Disappeared shortly after said case was terminated. He has been declared dead and is survived by his wife, daughter and two sons.

Powers: Ability to manipulate subatomic particles, generating immense amounts of radiation. If he's not using this power, he absorbs excess radioactivity. Seems immune to the effects himself.

Ability to morph the perception of others, disguising himself easily.

Heightened intellect, planning and technical capabilities. Severely decreased physical abilities, cannot tolerate regular environments.

Scientist notes:
1.Immediate respiratory failure following the injection. Had to quickly connect to breathing machine. Patient has been disconnected from the machine soon after. A special respiration apparatus allows him to breathe.
2.Patient has shown complete lack of emotion. Patient seems to be weakened by the experience. He cannot complete simple army training procedures, he seems physically weak and cannot remove any of his clothes, because the outside harms him. He may only change in a sterile room.
3.Patient has been polite and quiet so far. We are teaching him english.
4.Patient monitoring crew and teachers have all been diagnosed with tumors and cancer. Patient smiles when this is told to him. He appears to speak English fluently.
5.Patient is meticulously polite and seems to harbor no ill will towards us.
6.Patient is nowhere to be found.
7.Patient has been returned to his room. It appears that he also has the ability to disguise himself at will. Curious.

Name: Samil. Last name unknown.

Subject Number: #97

Gender: Male

Age: 26

Appearance: Scars run down the length of both his arms. He is 6'3" and 200lbs.
His eyes have a red glow to them, and he usually wears sunglasses to hide them while in public. His normal attire is a dark suit.

Past life: Samil was a computer programmer before his kidnapping. He had very few friends, and was very antisocial. Once taken, he seemed to take to life in the labs, and was surprisingly willing to go through processes the other subjects were forced through.

Powers: Telekinetic abilities, focused through his eyes. A secondary effect was an enhanced rate of healing, roughly ten times faster than normal rates.

Scientist notes: When Samil recovered from the injection, he displayed very potent telekinetic abilities. It was noted during an initial test that his eyes degraded when he channeled too much energy, and time was devoted to working around this limitation. He was later given an enhanced healing factor, to counteract the damage to his eyes. This gave them a glowing appearance.
He also seems to lack any kind of attachment to humanity, and is happy to continue working with us, though he seems to enjoy causing pain and distress a bit too much.

Name: Rufus Von Bernkastel

Subject Number: 37

Gender: Physically: Male Psychologically: Neutral

Age: 18

Appearance: Grey trousers, smart grey shirt, beige boots, circular reflective sunglasses.
Darkening blonde hair, and grey-blue eyes.

Past life: Not really what could be called a 'normal' teenager compared with those who lived in the same area as them, he spent large amounts of time playing games, watching animes, and reading books. But, apart from that, did seem normal. They went to a good college, panicked about the work like everyone else, but wasn't interested in other people.

Powers: Plane-Phasing (Phase through object much like a ghost, if un-phased while moving, displaces what they were currently phased into)

Scientist notes: The subject has become increasingly withdrawn, shunning contact with other human beings, or at least avoiding physical contact. Subject also shows signs of having a multiple personality disorder, mutters to themself often, and has fierce loyalty, bordering on the fanatic, which could be useful. Difficult to contain due to their power, however, they do not seem interested in running away.

Name: James "Doc" Dresden

Subject Number: #7

Gender: Male

Age: 26

Appearance: Tall male with a slim build and dark brown hair.

Past life: Test subject was working as a physicist in Norway, voluntary gave consent for experimentation. Originally from Great Britain. Nickname "Doc" was obtained at university from his Quantum Mechanics professor.

Powers: Doc can absorb light energy and convert it into short but destructive blasts of radiation. His radiation blasts can destroy most organic materials instantly whereas stronger materials such as steel require repeated attempts. He is capable of long sustained blasts of radiation but these put great strain on his body.

Scientist notes: Subject #7 has an almost limitless energy capacity. However as this depletes the subject becomes fatigued requiring him to be exposed to light to function properly. Perhaps this could be resolved through extensive testing?

Sparrow! You forgot!

(All credit of the story goes to Samuel.)

Also:

Do note that the GM's have outside lives, and cannot be online 24/7. I, and I'm sure the rest will to, will try to guide it as perfectly as we can.

Name: Iceous 'Frosty' Glacor (Pronounced ICE-E-US GLAY-CORE)

Subject Number: #5

Gender: Male

Age: 34

Appearance: Strangely white hair that appears to be frozen, tall, thin, pale skin, deep blue eyes, and usually wears a pale blue jumpsuit with dark blue trim. Is also constantly surrounded by a fine mist.

Past life: Worked in a meat store. One notable event was being locked in a freezer for several hours. Also had a very strange fascination with the cold, even to the point of getting his name legally changed. Also lived in Texas.

Power: The ability to control ice and water. Also has the power to suck heat out of objects. He can use the moisture from surrounding areas, or in extreme circumstances, his own body.

Scientist notes: He has adapted well to the change. It also seems as if his body has adjusted a bit TOO well to the cold. If his body gets too warm...... we believe he will melt. Or die a horrible death. The altering has affected his pigmentation, however. It also seems as if his core temperature is always half of the average person's in the same situation. We had to make is cryo-tube extra cold. His metabolism has reduced by a tremendous amount. He should only need to eat every few days. He seems to also use less water than the average human, meaning he has more to his disposal.
EDIT: I'm constantly editing because ideas keep streaming in. Yay indecisiveness!

Don't worry. This is only the second RP I've entered, only the first I've made! It's really easy to pick up.
Thanks! Here's my guy:

Name: Patrick Hughes

Subject Number: #1

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Appearance: Shaggy red hair, blue eyes, rather skinny. Height: 6 feet, 1 inch. Musculature is average.

Past Life: Subject was "acquired" from Philsmore Rehabilitation Facility. No prior records exist, however it is believed that the subject had been involved in several criminal activities prior to the one that led to his arrest and incursion into the facility: the alledged murder of one Ms.Vanessa Connor.

Power: Psychic abilities. The subject has displayed in various tests mind-reading abilities, psychokenesis, and very limited control over other minds. However, his power levels are significantly lower than that of other subjects. It may be possible that the subject posesses hidden potential: see notes attached for more details.

Notes: Subject is believed to have severe mental breaks. We are unsure as of yet how far the damage extends, but this may be connected to the subject's lack of power. Subject's levels do tend to rise at a significant rate when the subject is stressed: life-threatening simulations must be explored. Subject displays paranoia, agression, psycosis and irrationality at times. Multiple Personality Disorder might be an issue as well. Hypothesis: MPD might be the solution to all our questions about subject #4. The lack of power could be due to his "normal" persona being unable to access the abilites: this power is retained by a persona that emerges in times of stress. Solution: Psychiatric help is out of the question, for obvious reasons. Treatment via medication the only option for the moment.

EDIT: I keep looking for a number that isn't taken already, just tell me if I goofed :D

Sparrow, sounds smashing! Count me in!

Character sheet...

Name: Kyle Xavier Reppaz

Subject Number: #6

Gender: Male

Age: 19

Appearance: Caucasian, short brown hair, spiked in front, piercing blue eyes, semi-athletic build, always wears special gloves, jeans, tennis shoes, and a open button down shirt with a white tank top underneath.

Past Life: An aspiring lawyer, his lower class family could not afford to send him to college, so he accepted the offer for the payment.

Power: He can manipulate electricity, but cannot create it, so he wears gloves that are made of material that causes static electricity when rubbed against itself. He can manipulate it to such great levels that he can use it to lift himself off the ground and fly. He can also absorb electricity and utilize it differently.

Notes: A bit cocky, is a pain to work with. He becomes exhausted after manipulating for too long, but the absorbtion of electricity replenishes his strength immediatly. However, if he absorbs too much without releasing any, he loses control of the electricity, and it is released all at once in various directions. Investigate further.

I can't see Sarah and Iceous getting along too well, seeing as she can melt him if she gets out of control :D

But hopefully they will be able to overcome their differences. I like that everyone has different powers... and different personalities as well.

Well, theres only four slots, so they might not be together. Maybe neither of them will be in! You never know though.

I feel a bit like a kid in a sweet shop here. Lots of good characters to choose from... maybe I should extend the character limit? I'll check with the other two GM's tommorow.
