"They're b-both traitors!"

Sarah jumped back slightly when Patrick yelled. She didn't look Emily or Patrick in the eye. She was to wrapped up in her own thoughts.

Did they know? Did they both know? Samuel and Sparrow are my friends.. but if they are traitors.. Sparrow is the only one who I truly trust and if this is all true. If what Patrick saids is true.. Then who do I trust?

Sarah could feel her anger and sadness rising. When these rose it was almost always followed the the white flame.

 

[Sparrow]

Three hours was too long to buy a spot of lunch and a doughnut. Sparrow was worried. Very worried.

They could've bumped into some 20%'s or some 5%'s, the feds could've hauled them in, Sarah could've gotten angry and burnt Patrick to a fiery white crisp...

Sparrow lunged across the bed, and grabbed Samuel's house phone. There must be some hidden messages around the house to find his seperate mobile numbers, dates, birthdays, anything. It was only then he spotted the address book, and opened it. One number was there. He assumed it must be the mobile number. He frantically pressed the digits on the phone, and sat through the dialing tone...

"Come on Patrick, we need to stick together, if you leave now, you are just as much a traitor as Sam!" Emily looked him in the eyes, "I need you Patrick, We need you."

Patrick looked at Emily, his eyes flaring up with hatred. "How dare you." he said, his voice low and menacing, with all the traces of stuttering gone, his fear overidden with anger. "Don't even THINK to call me a traitor. I could have betrayed you as well, or left you to Sparrow's devices. As it is, I'm giving you fair warning of what will happen, so don't insult me."

His stutter returned as abrubtly as it had left. "Wh-Whatever. I'm leaving, and if y-you were smart you'd j-join me." he muttered grimly as he stood up.

[Spar, was the phone directed at Samuel?]

"Oh, oh Patrick, please don't do this! I'm sorry, I didn't mean that, please don't leave!" Emily looked around, she was making a bit of a scene, "Come on Sarah, lets get out of here."

She stood up and walked out of the McDonalds, seeing Patrick walking away, she grabbed his shoulder.

"Please don't leave Patrick, I need you."

 

[Sparrow]

[Spar, was the phone directed at Samuel?]

[Sarah. Not Samuel. Sarah still has your phone.]

Patrick shook Emily's hand off his shoulder. "N-No, Emily," he said, "none of you n-need me. So j-just leave me alone."

Before she could respond, he tapped into the Gift, and forced her mind to keep her from moving her legs. He did the same to Sarah too, in case she tried to follow him instead of helping Emily. It was a temporary measure at best, but it would allow him to escape the pair.

"Y-You'll see. I'm n-not paranoid." he said firmly, and then he ran into the nearest alley, trying to put as much distance as he could between him and his former comrades.

I failed... all I can do now is find Iceous before they do, and warn him about what's happened.

Assume now that Patrick is actively searching for Iceous with his powers. Portal, just tell me when you want me to find you, ok?

 

[Shapsters]

"Patrick!! Don't leave! Please don't go!"

Patrick, please don't leave us, please. I will come with you! Wait for me, let me come with you!

Sarah said nothing as Patrick was beginning to leave. She knew her words couldn't convince but maybe her thoughts could.

Please don't leave Patrick. You might be right but please Patrick, don't leave. Maybe I can talk to Sparrow by myself, if he is a traitor maybe he has a good excuse. If he is then I'll follow you. But I have to find out for sure.

Sarah turned and started to walk back towards their hideout. She would ask Sparrow for herself. Patrick's paranoia was beginning to affect her. She had to find out the truth.

 

[Sparrow]

The phone dialed out. Sparrow sighed. Sarah must've put the phone on silent. He went to put the phone down, when a voice answered.

"Samuel. We've been looking for you."

Sparrow figured it must be Patrick, as the voice was quite rough.

"Sorry Patrick," Sparrow replied, "still just me."

"Heh. Even better. Subject #2, son of Alfie and Mary Everett."

This wasn't Patrick.

"Who is this? How do you know who I am?"

"Voice recognition. Not that I'd need it."

"Who do you work for?"

"You'll find out soon enough. I was stalling, for our boys to arrive."

"I won't ask again. Who do you work for?"

"A friend of your friend. Subject #8."

"Wait, but your Samuel's old employees aren't you?"

"We're the government kid. We employ everyone."

The line went dead, as Sparrow dropped the phone. He had to warn the others not to come back. Somehow.

[Samuel and I have come up with the worlds most amazing plan. Emily and Sarah shall return to this mess, by mess we mean the area crawling with 20's and 5's, and think Patrick was telling the truth. Or in other words, they'll think Sparrow set a trap.]

WOOOOOOOT for conspirazorz! And in the meantime, I shall search for our buddy Iceous. I wonder if he's the friendly type though, so far he seems to be rather uninterested in anyone that isn't related to him

"Arg! Why did he have to do this?! Why did he have to leave?!" Emily was very upset, the fact that Patrick didn't care enough about her that he just left shocked her, "I thought he cared about me, I mean us."

Emily sunk her head and began walking back to the apartment, tears in her eyes.

[I wanted to do this with Doc, but he isn't here for the moment and the story demands continuation.]

Samuel brushed the dust off his coat. The soldiers were tied up in front of him, cowering before him. He looked around the site. Most of the equipment was destroyed in the explosion he had created before he attacked.

Doc had asked him to take care of the Militia that was positioned a few miles away from the facility, set there to take care of any disturbance. They'd been massing for an assault on the complex. Stupidly enough they had put vehicles with full fuel tanks and explosive material all in the center of camp. A few sparks was enough for total chaos. Samuel had killed every man still standing. Those in front of him had been knocked out due to the concussion blast.

"Gentlemen, it has been a pleasure." Samuel said, putting on his hat. "But your comrads will be here soon. I don't want to be discovered."

He put the soldiers down, but not out, and turned to the facility.

I hope the sending's done.

Emily and Sarah made there way to the apartment. Neither saying a word. Sarah was determined to find out the truth from Sparrow.

Is he a traitor? If he is then... I have no clue what I'd do.

Sarah jogged ahead of Emily, hoping that she could talk to Sparrow by herself. But when they got to the apartment both were soon surrounded. Sarah quickly lost sight of Emily.

"Emily?!"

Sarah turned to the people who surrounded her.

"Who the hell are you?!"
"Our names are of no importance. The only thing thats important is that you die!!"

The man rushed at Sarah, his arms transformed into blades and he swung the blades violently at Sarah. Her body was quickly engulfed in flames. She shot them at the man and his friends. She hit one of the enemies and he fell to the floor screaming.

These are 5' and 20's. They're trying to kill us?!

[Hope this was a good enough setup for the fight.]

Emily took no notice to the people around her, he didn't care anymore. Patrick just up and left, not caring about anyone else but himself.

Selfish jerk, why would he do such a thing to me? You know what, screw him! Damn jerk!

She looked up and saw she was surrounded by people, one attacked Sarah and her sadness turned to rage

"Don't hurt my friends!!" she roared as she began attacking the people.

Sparrow weeded his way through the carnage, hitting perecents out of his way as he did. He was in no fit state the fight, but it didn't matter. Nothing would matter if he didn't get to them in time. He limped toward a space inbetween them, and hit the floor. He almost dropped Samuel's laptop, which he'd taken just incase.

He planted his cane into the ground, and lifted himself up. He couldn't see much, but the percents weren't focusing on him, they we're focusing on something else. A shot of fire burst through a large crowd of percentages, and barely missed Sparrow.

"Shit, they're here already."

Sparrow limped toward the area of the shot, pushing through the crowds.

But what exactly are 5's and 20's?

[Before we we're made, using 100% of the brain to form our powers, others were tested on in large amounts. At first, they only used 5% of the brain as they we're instructed to. Then they ignored the Russian government after the project was shut down, and used 20% of the brain. Then after they were found, they did a latch ditch effort to make the 100%'s.]
