Hello,

I ask myself: Is it possible to overwrite PSP UMD disks on normal SD cards? As far as I know, the PS Vita won't play UMDs so I would like to place my old PSP games on SD cards, to play them later on my Vita. If that is not possible, will there be any possibility to make that wish of me working? (Yes, I could play all the games on my old PSP, but my PSP battery is killing me, it is nearly empty after fully reloading.).

I hope you can tell me something about this thought. =)

Thus far, Sony hasn't disclosed any method of allowing UMD owners to transfer their games to the Vita via legal ISO and what not. Sadly i doubt there will be any sort of method for some time if not ever. A lot of it has to do with legal issues and finding some way of doing it where people won't take advantage of the system to let other get free copies for themselves.

While my PSP won't explode into fiery death the second I buy the Vita, I would love some way of transferring my UMD collection over the the Vita if I ever have the mood to play some good old Metal Slug, Syphon Filter, or Soul Calibur. I have like 80+ UMD games...having some means of making a legal ISO would be a god send and the lack of that is one of the many reasons the PSPgo failed.

Only method of getting digital copies of the games you own (that are even available on the store which is another problem, not all are) that doesn't seem like cheating the system would be something like mailing in your games and getting a voucher for them, or registering the serial code on the back of the box to confirm you legally own the game.

Last I heard Sony was considering a PSN download version of existing titles for people who bought physical umds but the short answer (and far more likely) is a no.

Especially given they wanted to do this for the PSP Go and failed to turn up anything other than re-buying games on PSN.
