Heya all,

Just what the title says, I'm looking for some Co-op games for the playstation 2 that me and my 10 year old son can play together. I'm not looking for fighting games or anything PvP as I have some of those already and I don't let him play them. I'm looking for some type of puzzle platformer or something where a second player makes the game a little more fun and you have to work together.

Are there any such games out there?

Thanks in advanced,

-Kagatos
Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 1 & 2, Champions of Norrath and Champions Return to Arms, are all great co-op RPGs.

The Adventures of Cookie & Cream would also be a good pick if you can find it anywhere.

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King had a fairly decent coop mode. It's pretty difficult, but an ok game.

This. I played both of the Baldur's Gates, LoRT:Return of the King, and both Champions of Norrath games with my mom, dad, and sister, so that tells you a little bit about how much fun monster killing can be with family. Too bad they all grew up when I tried to get them to play WoW with me...

And also shame how I haven't found any games like those since I finished them. I tried Marvel Alliance, and one of the Gauntlet games, but found them lacking. Eh, oh well.

Thank you all, you've given me a good amount of games to look into!

Now I just have to find them... :)

Since you asked for a puzzle/platformer and not just a platformer, like everyone else is suggesting, I'd highly recommend The Adventures of Cookie & Cream.

It's a fun little co-op puzzle game where you and your partner are trying to platform your way to the finish while solving little puzzles and challenges to help each other get past obstacles.

That looks really good...I'll have to keep my eye open for it, thanks for the suggestion.

As for everyone else giving just platformer advice, I just figured that there was no Co-op puzzle-platformers for the PS2. Some of the suggestions seem like really good mindless fun that the two of us can do together.

Champions: Return To Arms is a pretty simple co-op RPG. You do get some stat/equipment changes but choosing skills and initiating them in combat is fast, simple, and fun.

The Lego games are a great idea too!

How about music games? Amplitude and Frequency look kind of like Guitar Hero but you're a spaceship of sorts and you use your PS2 controller to unlock the music tracks as the song continues. Hard to explain, fun to play. You can even customize your character with goofy outfits.

If your PS2 is the original version that can take an HDD and you can FIND an HDD, you could play FFXI together. :p
