PS3 advice requested please

Those are all good non FPS games I could think of off the top of my head. Also if you Wipeout HD is incredible if you are into that type of racing game.

Heavy Rain - You should really check this one out, it looks very cool and unique, by the same developers that did Indigo Prophecy, but from what they have been saying this one is grounded in reality, no crazy wierd sci-fi plot this time.

These sound pretty good! I loved indigo prophecy and was cheesed when I found out Heavy Rain was a PS3 exclusive as I don't have one.

My friend showed me Demon's souls and it looked punishingly difficult, right up my alley. However, in the little I played the controls felt kind of strange to me.

You get used to the controls pretty quick actually. I think it has some of the best controls of any action rpg I have ever played, did you use lock-on with the R3? That might have been your problem. It almost reminds me of Zelda, but a little slower. The camera can get annoying on occasion though.

My advice (I'm being completely serious here): take your money, and instead of buying another machine, donate it to a charity that'll give to people who really need it. Like Invisible Children. Or the Center for Victims of Torture (yes, it's an actual organization).

It was probably amplified by my inexperience with the dual ashock controller too (or whatever it's called now, sixaxis?).

To the issue at hand, I don't have any of the current generation gaming systems and my computer is a dinosaur; as such, I can't offer much advice on games or system preferences. However, if you are at a complete loss as to what to ask for, then why not ask for a PS3? My only other idea to offer you would be to be to research other consumer gadgets, like GPS units, portable media players, etc.
