Ok, first off, I'm an admitted 360 fanboy.
I believe that the next gen console war really got started over the price. PS3 owners felt the need to justify the extra price tag by flaunting the features like Blu-Ray and built-in WiFi and better graphics in the faces of 360 owners, and 360 owners typically counter with the "Our games are better and for adults" argument.
Nowadays:
1. The system prices are relatively equal.
2. Both of the latest generation of systems have low failure rates.
3. Blu-Ray players are cheaper and more prevalent.
It pretty much levels the field for a comparison of the consoles. Since I recently went shopping for a new console, I can say that it really comes down to the games and what appeals to each person. The graphical differences between the systems are really negligible and if you choose one over the other because of graphics I think you're a sad human being
