PS3 and Keyboard

I am going to purchase a PS3 very soon. What I would like to know though is, how does it work with keyboards and mouses (sp mice?). I've heard that you can hook them up to it, but what types work? How does the keyboard interface work? Can you use it to play games? How do the controls work? Do they say, these buttons do this, period? Does it recognize that you are using a keyboard and go, "Here is a full key set up." Or is it some weird guessing game of what keys do what and it is rough changing the controls.

I also would like to know how to use the search function on these forums.

1)USB and maybe bluetooth but I don't trust that.

From my knowledge, there is some keyboard and mouse support for the PS3. You should be able to use it to surf the net and such, but you can't use it in games (except for Unreal Tournament 3). As for setting up, you'll need to ask someone who owns a PS3, or search the net.

Mate setting it up is easy as pie, I didn't even bother to buy a new USB keyboard and mouse, you can buy a USB adaptor for them for around £10 and just plug it into the front of the PS3, no installation neccesary there you go its working. If your using it to surf the net though I might suggest that you get wireless ones or destroy your eyes like I do.

UT3 incorparted it into their games, but I doubt there will be many more games like that to come simply because it split the online gaming community in half and made it really hard to find a full (ish) server. Don't expect to buy it and get to game with it.
