PS3 controller for PC

Hi all, let me just say first that I did do a search of the forums for this and found nothing, however if i have missed the thread where this is covered please direct me to it .

That out of the way allow me to pose this quandry to you; how does one get a Play Station 3 Controler to work on one's computer?

More precisely my Windows XP PC.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I can't remember which I used when I first tried it, but I've since switched to Ubuntu, and it worked with no drivers or tweaks whatsoever, genius.

Really i want it for Devil May Cry 4, i can get SSS sometimes on the keyboard but not all the time... (as opposed to DMC 3 on the PS2).
