PS3 Games (Help Please)

I have recently acquired a Playstation 3, and I'm trying to decide whether or not to pick up Resistance 2 or Killzone 2 (Or indeed, just wait for Killzone 3). I'm also wondering if anybody has any other suggestions for great games to pick up.

Resistance 2 was fun, if not a bit frustrating from the ridiculous encounters. Killzone 2.... Not so much. I found very little to praise in the game, aside from the graphics.

HOWEVER, for other games, I would recommend:

LittleBig Planet 1 and 2 (2 comes out on the 18th)

Uncharted 1 and 2

God of War 3

Heavy Rain

I can recommend Bioshock, Red Dead Redemption, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: World at War, Little Big Planet, Resistance: Fall of Man, Mortal Kombat 2 and Fat Princess. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in particular. By far my most played game on the PS3.

Uncharted seemed to me like it was trying to be a movie, very linear and very little options on how to approach any objective.


Good games for ps3

Demon's Souls -A dark rpg that likes to find new ways to kill you
Dragon Age Origins -A traditional rpg with knights and such fighting against orc-like zombie-demon things, incredible story and voice-acting
Gran Turismo 5 -Awesome racecar game that has online races
Red Dead Redemption -A hilarious cowboy game
inFamous -Fun sandbox game that lets you shoot lightning
MAG -Giant shooter with no campaign and multiplayer that can support up to ~256 people in a game
Mass Effect 2 -Sci-fi third person shooter, great voice acting and story

3D Dot Game Heroes-A lot like the older Zelda games
The Orange Box-Usually very cheap and has 3 or 4 good games on it:Half Life 2 part 1 and part 2- a sci-fi game with interesting enemies and plot, Portal- a first person shooter puzzle game, and Team Fortress 2- an online cartoony first person shooter.

I haven't played Killzone 2 yet although 1 was pretty fun.

I really like Dark Sector, personally. Most of the PS3's best game's have been reasonably big hits, for a little while at least. Yahtzee Croshaw's 2010 picks of Dead Rising 2, Just Cause 2, and Red Dead Redemption are all excellent, as is his 2009 game of the year, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and all of those games are available on PS3.
