According to a study from a US market research firm [TDG], the big black machine has more users connected online then the Xbox 360, and the Wii.

What do you think? The article I found this from can be read here .

I'm willing to bet it's because PSN doesn't require a premium and we all know the Wii isn't really that up on the online crowd

Have you tried setting it up in Connection Settings?

I've heard this before. It's hardly surprising though, PSN is free unlike XBL. I don't know anything about the Wii's online service, though I've heard that using it is a hassle.

Well you turn it on, but if you are trying to imply that the people just turn on their PS3 and leave it there is kinda stupid. The PS3 is only connected when its on and when I personally turn mine on its to browse the internet or play games (don't really find Home fun).

That makes sense, since it has a built in wireless adapter and PSN is free... Its slightly easier than buying the xbox adapter and setting up a subscription, but i dont know how the Wii works....

I thought at first you mean numerically more PS3s were hooked up than 360s or Wiis. Heh yeah right.

But yeah, I'm not too surprised a higher % have it hooked up. PSN is free and it has wireless so it's quite simple to get online and play multiplayer. Xbox is probably no harder to hook up, but paying for it will naturally turn people off from doing it. And the Wii, well... not much point lol, considering how it's top sellers are not multiplayer or online games.

well, even while watching movies or surfing on the internet throught the console, i always forget to turn off the PSN... sometimes it's funny to read usernames appearing onscreen at the worst moment of the movie...

Doesn't surprise me. You have to buy a hundred dollar thing for the 360 if you wanted to connect to a wireless network or your 360 had to be sitting next to a router, and the Wii was strangely complex and the kind of people who are attracted to the Wii hardly care about online play; they just want to sit around and play Wii Sports at a party. The PS3 was by far the easiest out of all my consoles to get online save for my PC.

It's worse on the 360. If my notifications are on, I could be watching a really dramatic part and then *BLEEP! xxxQwIcKsNiP3sxxx is Online!*

EDIT: Shoot, I meant to edit this into my post.

Brilliant! Its an article like this that makes me not regret buying a PS3 instead of a Xbox 360.
So without such an article you'd regret it? 0_o

It makes perfect sense though. No reason not to connect your PS3.

I was impressed at first because I remembered reading (somewhere on this site) a user claimed/summarized/whatever PS3 was a singleplayer console, and Xbox 360 was for multiplayer (in general). Then I remembered PSN was free, and... yeah. Still cool, I guess.

It's free, although it can just not connect for no reason at all sometimes.

You're still connected to XBL without a subscription, you're just considered a "silver" member. However, most Xboxes don't have built in wi-fi, which explains it. The Wii has a pretty casual crowd, moreso than other consoles anyway, so most don't bother to connect it only cause they just want to play the damn games.

Well it is free, isan't it?

But I'm more of an xbox man myself. Even if I loved Heavy Rain.

I have the original first gen PS3 (like I was one of the very first people to own one), and it has wireless however it's blind so to speak. You need to type in all of the information exactly or it wont see the wireless router.
