I'm definatly glad I got a slim, seems was worth the cost of the 250GB too, since it's stronger, though no backwards compatability is meh

If my slim wasn't working, I'd be screwed right now, since my GC is dead and I don't have my replacement from my gf, and the PS2 is packed up since I'm moving out next month and working on getting ready to get out. I'll be out of the gaming for a bit near the end of the month since I want to move my stuff out. But that's what the computer is for

Sony is actually pretty good with hardware, and at least it was Sony and not Microsoft with the issue, since I fear for how the forums would be with 360 junkies not being able to play, since there is bugger all difference that I know about between the norm. 360 and the elite. Plus, since the 360 is already flawed enough, I don't think the company would release much more after the 360 if they had to fix it.

I think that Microsoft didn't spend enough time on the 360, the Wii did too little and had to keep in the game with the Wii so released it too early, and Sony did the perfect amount of work on it, since we know that there is no "perfect" game, or perfect anything game wise, except fun

most of my games are trophy-less launch titles anyway (like Genji: Days of the Blade, fun game but not as good as the original)

The error is in the Leap Year Algorithm which confused the ps3 when the time came to magically jump from Feb 28 to March 1.

Sounds like the Y2K bug finally got here. Or maybe it's the Y2K10 bug in this case.

Meh I have been sucked in to NMH2 as of late and had no interest in playing anything else (including ps3) until I am done with the game, so I should be fine as long as they fix this in the next week.

I would be pissed off if my Ps3 was not working if I had one. I also would be Teed off If I lost my badges, Trophy's or Achievements. What? I like my gamerscore and such for all that stuff.

Seriously, the e-mail came through at work and caused me to nearly wet myself. Three customers were turned away from getting a refund due to 'faulty' consoles today, and Sony's statement read out to them.

Conversely, how come PS3 suffers so from patches, DLC and updates being the worst organised, least bug-tested and/or most inefficient out there? Surely someone at SCHE must have gone "Wait... so an Xbox game update takes only 2 minutes, yet the same game on PS3 takes 2 hours+... why don't we fix this?" or "Assassins Creed works fine on 360 and PC... yet doesn't on PS3... this is a problem we should have noticed." or indeed, my favorite: "Fallout 3 DLC... hmm... how could we get it THAT wrong?"

Everytime I look I start to wonder if the reason Xbox got 'exclusive' content before PS3 for GTA 4 and the like had more to do with 'it worked quicker' than simply 'they paid us to do it on 360 first."
Incidentally, PS3 gets Episodes from Liberty City on disc soon. Safer option than downloading?

I have a fat ps3 and didn't know anything about this til after it was over. I was happily playing bioshock 2 online and heavy rain with no problems.
