The only mild surprise - and not much of one - is Grand Theft Auto V which, appropriately enough, holds the #5 spot on NPD's chart. It's the only game in the top 5 that isn't available on either of the two new consoles. It's insanely popular [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/128014-Grand-Theft-Auto-V-Breaks-1-Billion-In-Three-Days], granted, but to still hold a position in the charts when two major consoles are smacking each other around with launch titles is an achievement in itself.
Is it? Are there really that many good launch titles? Most of what I've seen is either already available on PS3/Xbox360/PC or mediocre at best.

You know, I really can't see Microsoft complaining with those numbers, both consoles did phenomenally and the Xbone would have been the "best console launch" if it weren't for the PS4 anyway.

Its important to remember: whoever wins, we win more. The fact that both of these consoles are selling so well means that third party developers are far more likely to make multi platform games, instead of exclusives that leave certain gamers out of the fun. Plus, more investment into games in general, and more investment means more games! yay!
