The wife just picked up a PS4 for me as a gift, but didn't get any games, not being sure what I want. I know I'll be picking up Destiny and (probably) The Division later this year, as well as FF14 here in a month. (Wife and Guild from FF11 are playing 14 now so might as well join them.)

I've read Battlefield 4 is fucked up buggy, which sucks since I'm a huge fan of 3, and will likely pick it up later once it's cleaned up more.

After downloading the apps I needed I began browsing the Playstation Store... And there's nearly nothing there. I've browsed the local Walmart and their PS4 case holds all of 5 games, BF4 and 4 I have no interest in.

WTF is everyone playing? I'm killing time with Warframe and Blacklight because they were free.

Get Resogun; A fun shoot 'm up with pretty particle effects. That's really it if you already have Assassin's Creed 4 and Tomb Raider on last gen, and Don't Starve on PC.

You could try Outlast, but I thought it was fucking terrible.

I have Resogun and the Zombie one as well. Im not interested in AC or Tomb Raider, not my flavor. Hasn't the PS4 bern out almost 5 months now? I'm amazed how barebones the market is.

Hey can you expand on that a bit? I haven't played it yet but have only heard glowing reviews.

Second Son is coming soon isn't it? Sucker Punch did alright alright by Playstation last gen. I am hoping to see some moral grey in Second Son. We'll see though.

I'm also playing warframe,it's a very addictive f2p game.

Also dead nation , is all kinds of awsome.

I'm waiting for final fantasy 14 to come out in a month also! Which is perfect because it gives me a month to play dark souls 2 to my hearts content .

I wouldn't say barebones. I really depends on what kind of games you like. Plus Japan JUST got the ps4. Here's to hoping we get some jrpgs soon( for me).

Well first of all, it's just jump scares. There's nothing that establishes atmosphere except darkness and the fact that it takes place in a mental hospital. Both of which are apparently meant to be scary by default. Then there's the nightvision mode on you camera, which is the developers trying to cash in on the POV horror genre that was a thing a few years back. It didn't work for me back then, and it doesn't now.

It was the crummy stealth that got me to rage quit entirely though. There's a part very early on in the game where you have to restart a generator in a pitchblack basement. Your nightvision is constantly eating up batteries, which are limited by the way. And all the while there's a mental patient (ooga booga booga) with a club walking around that you have to avoid. However, there's no cue of any sort to indicate whether or not he can see you, untill it's already too late. And when he sees you there's nothing you can do except run around like a headless chicken, hoping you can break sight long enough to hide before he beats you to death. And you can't defend yourself in any way. You can't distract his attention by throwing a bottle or whatever, you can't lock him in a room to buy some time, nothing. As soon as he sees you you're basically already dead, and you might as well reload the last checkpoint.

It was this combination that just infuriated the shit out of me, and made me glad I got this piece of crap free with PS+.

I don't have a PS4 but I know my friend is playing "The waiting game" as he sits around hoping something comes out for the system :p

Smartassery aside, how is Warframe on the PS4? Also, wasn't Planetside 2 supposed to have a PS4 launch soon?

I'm playing this really awesome game called 'Netflix', it's got tons of content.

Joking aside, I keep meaning to jump back into Battlefield, Assassin's Creed and Warframe but I always get distracted. I dip my toes into Resogun from time to time as well.

I imagine that Infamous is going to take over my life when that launches next week, however :p

Cool, thanks. The night vision goggles eating batteries actually sounds interesting to me but not having played with it, I can see how it could be a bad thing. I have a strong distaste for horror games that won't let me pick up a pipe or knife or weapons easily found in the setting. Almost anything can be a weapon. But any kind of hospital, even a mental one - has weapons somewhere in that building. They got brooms and mops? My character doesn't have to be a ninja that levels up with it. Just gimme a crappy amateur attack and I'll make it work. It doesn't even have to be powerful.

I think my taste in horror would agree overall.

Lego Marvel is great if you have any interest at all in Lego or Marvel. It's also extremely fun in multiplayer (it even has *gasp* local splitscreen play).

Killzone is pretty good if not anything that will set the world on fire.

Most of my PS4 time right at the moment is spent (re-)playing Strider. Such a great game. I'm currently doing a 100% run on Hard difficulty and haven't stopped enjoying it since I first downloaded it.

War Thunder and Killzone: Shadow Fall are keeping me quite busy.
How is war thunder on the ps4? I know they dump both ps4 and PC players together, but I wonder how ps4 gamers can compete against Keyboard or even joystick players.

I play it on pc, and yet all I seem to find are Keyboard or joystick players. I wonder if the ps4 version is competitive or not.

Although I did have a few planes that could not hit me regardless of how close they were, or even hit the broad side of a death star. Though they could be joystick players, since joysticks trade aiming for agility.
Well, my wife plays it on the PC, and I play it on the PS4, and frankly, I find it to be just fine! I love flight sims (IL-2 is my favourite PC game of all time) and I find the controller setup to be quite good. Except for not being inverted by default. Fuck that noise! Fortunately you can change it.
