or 8.75 for the two of them together.

If you haven't played the original, I can vouch it's really really good and I say that not really enjoying horror games.

Are you sure? It shows 2.49 each for me. Anyway, the last time I tried Dead Space on my main PC I couldn't solve the V-Sync bug that softlocks the game about 5 minutes in.

Dead Space 1 was fantastic. I played through it multiple times. Dead Space 2 was fairly decent, but not quite as good as the first one. Don't bother with Dead Space 3.

There should be a solution somewhere in here -

For the record, the bug persisted through my attempts to do exactly what they say there. I also wasn't asking anything :p I played through it a couple of years ago on my old PC. It was free on Origin some time ago and I have a physical copy from too. And a code from the EA bundle.

For the record Dead Space (first game) was pretty good. Didn't get the criticisms at all, other than boring audiolog storytelling.

I played Dead Space 1 and 2 for PS3 and really liked both. It was like playing a game version of Event Horizon, with excellent atmosphere and generally "realistic" physics, especially the excellent sound work. The "HUD-less" system was cool too. I liked the exploration of 1, and was skeptical of 2, but I thought it's slightly faster pace and grander set pieces made up for it (basically Alien v. Aliens).

I usually wish I had M+K for most console shooters, but the horror aspect made the stick aiming more tense in a good way.

I have no idea how well they run on PC though.

I'm mostly with you there but I think I liked Dead Space 2 just as much as one. Call me an action fanboy or whatever, Dead Space 2 definitely traded atmospheric scariness for tighter combat and more shock value (the needle scene, Oh God) but I personally still think it's pretty great. And it still had a little atmospheric dread.

The return to the Ishimura, hoo, that was a chilling experience.

Like most people say, it's Alien and Aliens.

I will agree though, don't bother with Dead Space 3. I mean, it's not a bad game by itself but it so does not fit with the Dead Space franchise, maybe watch a playthrough if you gotta know what happens.

That's where I got lucky, they had a similar sale like this years ago (14/1/2012 to be exact) and then later on PS+ game was dead space 3. So I got the franchise for next to fuck all.

Played a total of 4 and half hours, 3 of which are in number 2. It's one of the series I want to complete but never get around to and I have many of those ... still haven't finished assassins creed 3 (or anything after), human revolution or watch dogs!

Thanks for that, I'll check it out when I get home. I never got the second Dead Space game, despite being obsessed with Dead Space when it first came out.

I'd say you're right about all that. But yeah, I wouldn't recommend Dead Space 3 if you're looking for a "Dead Space" experience.

Also, for the record I prefer Aliens, though I do love Alien.
