Hmmm... I wonder if they can promote my account to a master one given that I became old enough a bit before the outage... I doubt it can actually happen, but it would be very nice of them.

So yeah, I hope they take the time to fix any potential bugs in the system, Instead of just throwing it out to gain as much positive sentiment as possible.

Yeah, this is basically what I was expecting from them. I approve of this.

Has there been any word on when the specific date that PSN will go back up, by the way? I see "next week" but that's kind of vague.
march 4 OT all is forgiven sony i never actually cared any way because psn being down has given me alot of time to finish older games and play garys mod and team fortress

Yeah, I know right? I'm glad I already had a bunch of PSOne Classics and Xbox Originals to keep me entertained. I will never get tired of these games.

[sub]But I'm still waiting for Tombi![/sub]

Offering PSN+! for 30 days! to all of the people who probably had their identity and credit cards stolen!
:D
Fuck you Sony!

.
seriously, this seems like one of the most pathetic gifts they could give to make up for the fact that thousands of people have their identities and credit card numbers stolen

if anything, this sounds like a damn excuse to advertise the PSN+ services to people! again, fuck you Sony.

Hmm, very smart Sony... You've managed to find a way to make more money through a seeming act of sympathy.

Not trying to be an ass here people, but think:

Sony gives free PSN+ to everyone for a month, exposing them to the benefits

People begin to like it more

free PSN+ ends

If even 10% of said people decide to subscribe to get PSN+, then sony just made a profit.

Sony uses profits to pay for current lawsuit against them.

It is an act of kindness (for sony anyways) but you have to be stupid to not realize the market benefits of this in getting more non-PSN+ members to sign up for it in the long run.

I sort of thought they would offer free content mainly for PSN Plus members but its nice that everyone is getting it.

Hopefully the server can handle all the downloads that are going to swamp it

At least their trying their best to make up for the attacks.

Yeah, my PS3 is never seeing the internet again. Sony has forever lost me as a potential hardware customer. A free month of PSN+ (whee) is not enough. Had they any decency, they would have sent me an actual letter detailing the intrusion and the information that had been obtained, along with contact information for their legal department.

I agree that what you're saying is true and Sony are probably aware of that too but I don't think that was their only motivation, I think they just wanted a good faith offer. I don't think being calculating like that is on their minds right now as much as "How the hell do we make this shitstorm go away without it costing us a fortune".

Welcome to business. Of course they're only going to offer their own services, there's no reason for them to pay for other people's when they have their own

Sony, you guys are awesome. While I never put credit card info on my account, I'm sure the many others that did would be pretty pissed. Hopefully this can at least win some of them back.
