I have been playing FF 7-9 with the physical discs on my PS3 and I was wondering, If I downloaded these games from the Playstation Store would I have to start them over from the beginning or would it continue from where I last saved at with the discs?

I think you'd be able to continue as long as you saved it. Don't quote me on that though. It saves on that virtual memory card doesn't it? I'd assume it'd be fine then.

I don't know the answer to your question.

I'm too busy crying because Ape Escape isn't in the store yet.

I just want to net me some monkeys, is that so bad?

I have a question on this topic too if anyone has an answer.

I bought these games on PSN and I am playing FF7 on my PSP. I can download it on PS3 too and if I did, can I transfer the save file from the PSP to the PS3?

Yes save files are transferable. From physical copy to digital copy. Physical copies and their save files are transferable to PS3 once you register the PSP to the PS3.

I often transfer save files back and forth from my PSP and PS3 when I'm playing my Classics.

To my knowledge, yes, they all run off of the same in-system PS1 memory card.

Awesome, I am going to have to try that then.

Saves are tracked on the virtual memory cards rather than the game data (either discs or downloaded). So however you get to playing the game, whatever system, the save data should work just the same.

If you have the games on disc DON'T download them. You wouldn't have to start over since it'll use the same memory but the only reason to download Final Fantasys' 7-9 would be to play them on a PSP. At their current price I wouldn't take it...though I already downloaded a couple and feel like I was lied to by the people who said I couldn't play PSX games on the PS3.

Do they load any faster if they are running from the HDD (PSN download) rather than from the discs?

I havne't noticed any major differences other than with Final Fantasy 7 which is in need of resurfacing. I guess that would be the one downside of playing on the discs, wear and tear. Not everyone lives close enough to a place that will resurface your games...

Is there a way to transfer the game itself from the PSP to the PS3? Is there a download limit on PSN games or is it like Steam and you can download an unlimited amount of times?

I am asking because if I can only download a game a few times then I would rather just transfer the ISO from the PSP to the PS3.

The main reason I was thinking about downloading them was to eliminate some disc swapping.
