Hey there! i was just looking at my poor collection of PSP games and have enough money to buy like 5, any game you recommend??

i already have the Persona series (that were ported to the PSP), Patapon 1 and 2, Metal Gear series (portable ops, portable ops +, Acid, Acid 2, Peace walker... yeah yeah, fan boy), Parasite Eve the 3rd birthday and echocrome

I don´t want more JRPG games, and i´m interested in games like echocrome and Patapon, what do you recommend?

Locorocco and Katamari are the only PSP games I've played to completion. Locorocco is a must.

If you're like me and gameplay is the most important thing to you, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is a must, and, well... there's Valkyria Chronicles II, but it has a painfully bad story. Skip the cutscenes and it's a fun game. Not REALLY what I'd consider a JRPG, except the story.

I enjoyed me some Dissidia as well. It's got its flaws though.

Do you have someone else to play with? Cuz that definitely changes suggestions around.

EDIT: Forgot LocoRoco! It's silly and fun.

Umm, God Eater Burst is like an anime version of Monster Hunter, with a plot, so it actually feels like you're being rewarded with progression.

The only reason I stopped at the moment is I've reached the point where I have to fight multiple big bastards at once which is hard with PSP camera controls. But at least I get AI people who can attack, heal and revive me.

Killzone(forgot the subtitle) I didnt really like Killzone for PS3, but I loved the one for PSP. Also the both liberty city and vice city GTA games are pretty fun and are pretty cheap now.

I know you didn't really want recommendations for those kinda games, but they are fun and very affordable

Phantasy Star Portable. Good mechanics, fun fighting, and just a cool style. Plus it's multiplayer, if you can find some friends with it.

Crush, Great puzzle game.

Mind those games you get for free (eventually..?) on PS store. Just saying.

Edit: Lord Inglip is getting on my nerves. I don't understand your apocalyptic banter!

...I pretty much just play JRPGs on mine... aside from Dissidia, which is a JRPG/arena fighter.

Still, if you haven't played the first two Star Ocean games, they're on there, and worth playing. Also, the remake of Final Fantasy Tactics is quite well-made. None of those have traditional JRPG fighting mechanics (Star Ocean is real-time, Tactics is squad movement turn-based), but they're still basically JRPGs...

sadly no, none of my friends are gamers, they only ever play with me if its Call of Duty, they don´t even have a PSP

-nevermind..

More seriously:

Lumines
WipEout Pure & Pulse
Project Diva 2nd (if you're into or tolerate Vocaloids or j-pop)

I hear the Prinny game is pretty good, Half-Minute Hero too.

If you'll accept SRPGs:

Valkyria Chronicles 2
Disgaea

EDIT: Actually, none of those are like Echochrome or Patapon. Yeah, should've read your post a little more thoroughly.

[small]EDIT EDIT: Except Project Diva 2nd is a rhythm game, so it has something in common with Patapon.[/small]

Monster Hunter is a good one. Birth By Sleep...I don't consider that a JRPG but whatever. Dissidia and also Duodecim Dissidia.
And go for Patapon. For sure. *coughCrisisCoreisagoodbuycough*

I'm mildly disappointed that so far this is the only mention to Lumines & Wipeout... (extra props for Project DIVA though!)

Seriously though OP, check out Lumines (#2 might be easier to track down to be honest), it's an EXCELLENT puzzle game that is great for the eyes and ears while playing.
