PSP Help!

So yesterday I bought my girlfriend the PSP Kingdom Hearts bundle, and as she is playing it, the PSP will keep popping up a message if she would like to quit the game. Now I have googled the issue and the only things I can find are relating to people downloading games for the PSP from PSN, No thread I find refers to this occuring with an actual UMD. so Escapist, my plea is such, is there any way to make this shit stop, or are we left to endure a great game with this SHITTY drawback

And does it come up with the same style menu as when you press the home button (Does it look exactly the same)

Also, whens the warranty/reciept run out?

To be honest I couldn't tell you. She told me it started after I had left her dorm, I am assuming it would be, and I think it is like a 30 day receipt or something, I mean, the PSP is a day old at this point.

Aha but this is a public forum and your gonna get my opinion if I have to shove it down your throat and their isnt much you can do about it.


As I said its either a firware problem or a button is stuck down. If you cant take a joke about a shitty game then thats your problem. Are you sure she isnt downloading games from the psn? You never know she might be.

Here is my thought. Stay on topic, the only reason I named the game is because it may have something to do with a needed update, as psrdirector suggested, otherewise the game is completely irrelevant. I couldn't give a flying fuck about your thoughts on the game, I just want to fix the portable console I just spent over 200 Dollars on.
This is the first sony system I have ever bought, and if it is fucked up then I know I won't be buying any more from them

Give it a couple of days or so, see if you can work it out with the help of us. But the good thing about the psp is the fact its got a memory stick, so you wont lose your saves if you have to trade back (unless it came in the package, or you bought a psp go)

try firmware before you return it, and that nothing is being downloaded in the background. Hope it wasnt used and you ran into the trouble i did, the last owner put a parental lock password on it, and it was still there <.< I got it via guessing every possible 4 digit number till i got it right.

Naw, it was brand new. Bundled up with the game and stuff. It is most likely firmware now that you mention it. Thank you much for your assistance. and that sucks about yours, glad you fixed it.

If it is the exact same screen your getting when you press home, then it could be a dodgy button. I'm guessing its a limited colour 3000 models, so a dodgy button wouldn't be too much of a big deal. You COULD open it up and give it a look, but since it's brand new with warranty your best bet is return it, and, if you wanted to be cheeky keep the mem stick as "compensation". I've only had a few psp problems on my 1000 model, so i'd send it back while you can to get a brand spanking new one without the fuss, and if it keeps happening get a different model, cos, tbh, they are pretty awesome.

Yeah its a Silver 3000. so I will try out these fixes and resort to that I suppose. btw is it supposed to be kinda loud when loading stuff? like the disk whirrring

To be honest i play games from my Mem Stick so I can't remember how loud it was, obviously it whirrs alot but apart from that it's not terrible. It's just how loud you think it is.

i would just take to back to where you got it if nothing else they will prob just show you whats going wrong and how to fix it =) also which kingdom hearts game is this birth by sleep (makes no difference i just didnt know it was out yet ,dam pal release dates.
