DS:
Can play gameboy, gameboy color, gameboy advance, and DS games.
Which means more games than PSP.
You can't play gameboy or gameboy colour games on it only advance and ds.
I was so pissed off because i wanted to get the gold/silver legendaries but now with the remakes i'm finally happy.

as for the list:

Klonoa Door to Phantomille
Yoshi's Island
Advance Wars 1 and 2
Super Mario Advance 2
Pokemon Firered/Leafgreen
Mario and Luigi Super Star saga
Kirby and the Amazing Mirror
Sonic Advance 2
FF tactics advance
Wario Ware Twisted
Mario Kart Advance
Metroid Zero Mission
Metroid Fusion
Golden Sun
Fire Emblem
Minish Cap

That's some of em, I doubt you heard of any of em though, so its okay.
If you have any interest in the games on this list get a ds because they are so cheap. Last year in the local gamestop from that list i got:

Yoshi's Island
Advance Wars 1 and 2
Super Mario Advance 2
Sonic Advance 2
FF tactics advance
Golden Sun
Fire Emblem
Minish Cap

For a euro each, as well as a good few more like sword of mana and golden sun 2.

Here is a bit of useful advice - try not to take any advice on the DS or PSP from people who don't own one (the best advice is from those people who have both, as they are more likely to be unbiased and have knowledge of both)
I would say it is a real tough call!
On long journeys I can watch UMD movies on the PSP, but I can read great books on the DS.
Gaming wise both have some great games so it depends on the games you want to play. What games do you play?

I own a PSP, but I wouldn't recommend it. Seriously get a gameboy color which is great.
