PSP recommendations?

Hey, I'm going off to college in a couple of weeks and I've decided I'm only going to bring my handheld consoles. I have a bunch of NDS games so I'm set there, but I've only got a few PSP games, and I'm hoping to buy enough to keep me entertained for a while.

I know you guys must be sick of these threads (sorry), but I'd really appreciate it if you could recommend me PSP games, including some stuff I could buy off of the PSN store. I own a PSP 2000 if that makes any difference, and I don't have any particular genre preferences.

The games I already have are: FF Dissidia, R&C Size Matters, Jak & Daxter The Lost Frontier, and FF VII Crisis Core.

Metal slug anthology (I just love the old metal slug games!).
Warhammer 40.000: squad command (nice game, but too easy).
World series of poker. (If you like poker, it's a very nice game).
Sid Meier's Pirates! (easier than the PC release, but after a while your screen gets filled with pirate hunters ).
Prince of persia Rival swords (nice game, evil controls).

Diagaea: Afternoon of darkness - Tied with FFT:TWOTL, but in my humble opinion Disgaea edges it out.
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite - Epic psuedo MMORPG with alot of quest to be getting on with.
DJ Max Portable Plus - Rhythm game that is so good it's the game equivalent of crack
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker - Best Shooter/Stealth em up with epic story and great gameplay. And a surprisingly deep outer ops mode.

Hmm, I can give you a few general suggestions on what I usually end up playing, but is there a specific genre you prefer? (I'm seeing platformers and FF style there, which aren't my forte to be honest)

Anyway, titles ahoy!

Patapon, Lumines, Wipeout Pure & Pulse are all pretty good generally speaking, as I regularly come back to these titles for some fin time killing. And if you're into Rhythm games at all I would suggest looking into the DJ Max series, the music is somewhat different but it ends up being pretty frantic in it's difficulty (I know of a demo floating somewhere on the 'net).

Also, I'm afraid I can't make this post without the words 'Monster Hunter' popping up, but I will say that this is somewhat of an acquired taste, as it takes a heavy investment to get into it but it is certainly rewarding afterwards...

I can certainly give you a few more ideas if you need, like I said previously I'm just not sure on what your gameplay preferences are at the moment.

I would throw a recommendation towards Phantasy Star Portable if you got pals to play it with.
Persona 3 for the fact its Persona 3. That's it from me, anything else and I'll just repeat this monster list.

Yea as you can tell I own a PSP and love it to bits. Birth By Sleep isn't out till the 6th in North America so putting in that section of my list is a tad presumptuous, but I have read user review after user review praising the game and these are some people I trust and share the same taste with. A cool thing though is that the english version of the game comes packs with more content than the japanese version.

I am certain it will be another AAA game like Peace Walker ect... and I look forward to giving my honest opinion of the game as it will be my first Kingdom Hearts game. Thankfully it's chronologically the first in the series too. So I think this will be a interesting foray into a series i haven't touched, and see how well I will enjoy it as a non-fan.

PixelJunk Monsters is a good one. Loco Roco, childish though it may seem, is actually hilarious and extensive.

I got MGSeacewalker about a week after it released. If you have a friend to play it with, get it. If no then a little rundown is that you control a number of things from capturing new members to your 'motherbase' and then sending them (I like to think unwillingly, but I'm just an asshole) into battles to gain weapons and fame, to developing new weapons that you can use in game. If you've played an MGS before, this is a very instanced version of it with tons to do out of actual gameplay.

I support the Armored Core games, with a side note that ANYTHING Armored Core involves at least as much time designing your Cores as piloting them if you're planning to get anywhere in the game. Personally I adore Formula Front's AI customisation system (you program your Core to fight, then watch. Manual control is an optional extra, and recommended against in-game).

Also, because they haven't been mentioned yet, I have two suggestions:

Shinobido: Tales of the Ninja - PS2 version is subtitled Way of the Ninja and is the best semi-recent Ninja game ever, and Tales has some issues, but some improvements as well. Like being able to play as custom characters. And if you have the PS2 game you can make custom missions and import them to the PSP game.

Echochrome - seriously, nobody's beaten me to this... It works well as a portable title.
