Just thinking about this, why can't Fox News ever come up with someone who has a valid, logical opinion? I don't see them interviewing Ebert or anyone like that.
Cause if they interviewed someone credible and/or intelligent, that person could potentially say something that goes against what Fox stands for!

Great pic, man. Where did you find that?

Anyway, she's an idiot for using studies that were meant to prove that games cause violence in general, NOT particularly rape. There's fallacy #1.

Of course, everything she's said is a fallacy, and all of it can be summed up in one eloquent sentence:

She's a fucking idiot

This is all very simple.

People play video games to unwind. Violence does not happen because the video game told them to do it. It happens because of some other personal issue. Reports that I have seen where games and violence were connected appeared to be due to the game being taken away. This is not the same thing, as the same effect can be achieved by taking away anything a person likes. Video game industries want customers, not killers, ergo they are not making games that are 'teaching kids how to murder', say. That's bad for business.

I stole a car, robbed a bank, and killed everybody around me with a sickle on a chain because I saw it on the news.

"When the Columbine murders took place, there were national polls where people voted on what they believed caused the two young men to kill. Media violence ranked high on the list, so I, obviously mistakenly, assumed that people still knew about the studies showing this connection - and believed them to have proven the link."

Because, of course, the general public can make informed scientific decisions in a poll.

Ah...This is funny. Really funny. Actually, no, it isn't funny, as people apparently listen to and believe this, or do they?

This would be a lot funnier if no one believed it, I guess is the point.

It's not scientific proof if people believe that something is causal. Hoping video games make people violent rapists doesn't make it so, even if the public thinks it's the case. The opinion of an uninformed public is worthless.
