Howdy! I was hoping that ya'll could suggest to me some psychological thriller movies.

To get discussion going, what's your favorite psychological thriller?

Mine currently is Session 9. Pretty crazy movie.

Session 9 was pretty awesome! I also have a deep love for Silence of the Lambs, Spiral, and of course Hard Candy. Psychological thrillers are my favorite genre of movie! ^_^

Old Boy, no question. Scared me shitless.
That along with Sympathy for Mr Vengeance for Wook's films :D

Though, to add more to the list, I'd say really anything by Alfred Hitchcock (personal favourite being Rear Window), David Fincher (personal favourite being Zodiac) or some of Danny Boyle's films like Sunshine and even 28 Days Later can be considered a psychological thriller.

Primal Fear is often catergorized as a pychological thriller, though it's really more of a mystery.

I'd recomend Identity. A little on the gory side (by some peoples standards, pretty tame for me) but it's pretty good.

Can <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.240632-2-50-Reviews-Funny-Games-2007>Funny Games count as a psychological thriller? I'd like to think it does. I really enjoyed it.

The Shining. I know it's a bloody horror ride at it's best, but it solidified itself as a psychological brain-burrower when I watched it then refused to enter a bathroom because the shower curtain was shut.

I'd say The Butterfly Effect (the original with Ashton Kutcher, not the sequel that I haven't seen but is apparently crappy). And definitely watch Identity, that's a really good one, and it has Alfred 'Doc Ock' Molina in along with John C. McGinley (aka Dr. Percival Ulysses Cox :D). Very engaging and definitely worth a look, both of them are. Oh, and definitely anything from Alfred Hitchcock. Vertigo and Rear Window are supposed to be really good (haven't seen them myself, sadly), and you should definitely check out Strangers On A Train (the first Hitchcock film I ever saw, and an amazing psychological thriller :D).

Or, you could just, you know, rent The Blair Witch Project... ;)
