Psychology Experiment

Escapists assemble, I need your help.

We are about to start our personal investigations in my psychology class. Basically we have the whole term to conduct our own experiment that is based on something psychological. I need some ideas for an experiment and I thought what better then the brilliant minds of the escapist forums.

In case your're wondereing, yes we can use test subjects but old lady ethics will be rearing her ugly head in.

gather a group of people and place them in a series of deadly traps that involve self-mutilation in order for them to escape, and see how strong the bond between fellow humans really are.

Or just ask a few what they'd do if they got mugged.

If you pick the one with the snes, you win. If you pick the one with the bullet, you use it to shoot the other box open and use the SNES. Wouldn't that work?

Well you can accually.
you can test if there are different effects with a black background
See if different kind of people makes the same mistakes
See where most people make mistakes (wich word and what colour)
My classmade did a his "final-paper" with this idea

What branch of psychology are you interested in OP?

How can you make me choose? On the spot I toss up between, cognitive, comparitive and social psychology. It's like being a kid in a candy store

we conducted a study into car size and the sex of the driver, i think it was during the learning approach we covered it. we stood at the side of the road and counted the size of the car and if it was a man or woman drining. for, the psychodynamic approach, we done a questionnaire to see the link between someones obedience and if they were inrovert or extrovert.

Sadly, many people on the Escapist are far from paragons of honesty and compassion. I think that The Third Wave experiment would work nicely on them. They try to claim it's a good thing.
