it seems alot of people on the forum are playing "psychonauts" (which is great, don't get me wrong) but is it because of yahtzee's review? the game's been out for like three years.
just out of curiosity. i'm not trying to give people shit or anything...just wondering

I though it was because it's made a recent debut as an Xbox Original on the Live Marketplace. Also, it was the game circles game of the month not too long ago. It's just been brought to attention alot recently so people have heard the recent hype and thought they'd give it a go.
Why should it matter if a game is old, especially if it's still fun?

Yep, I watched ZP's review and stumbled over it for pretty cheap for PS2.

Good game, it has this odd effect. You love the game to death but after some time playing it you want to destory it.

But, I would think that that is what reviews and websites like this help do, enlighten people to games and genres they wouldn't otherwise play.

I saw Yahtzee's review, and decided to get it when it went on sale for $10 on Steam during the holidays.

I was just holding off until somebody got it for me for Christmas. But yeah, the review kind of reminded me that it was out there.

Haha... guilty as charged. ^^ Thank goodness for Yahtzee, hmm? I'd hate to have missed a gem like Psychonauts was.

As I understand it, this is unique to the PS2 version. Played it on PC, and never once wanted to destory it, or destroy it, even. I just hope Brutal Legend fills some of the gaps left in my soul since finishing it...

Just curious to what you meant to put there.

Lettuce said he wanted to "destory" it. Geoffrey's making fun of the spelling error.

i didn't mean it like that, there's nothing wrong with old titles. i just got my 360 back from sending it in for the "red ring virus" and i still plan on picking up all my old xbox titles
like the kotors
jade empire
the "fable"s etc. relax guy

I've heard a bunch of stuff about this game over the years.

But when it's £10 on steam for the whole shebang I thought why not.

Turns out, I now rate Double Fine as EA's natural born enemy.

After the review. It was hard to find too. EB Games is too good for alphabetical order apparently.

Played it on the original release week for the PS2. I still love that game and will blindly buy anything with Tim Shafer's name on it until such time as he gets old and puts out a stale pile of crap so thoroughly indigestible that it puts me off all his games forever.

Yeah, I learnt about it from Yahtzee. This game came out before I knew what a gamer was, so I can't be blamed for that. The game's good, save for the fact that instead of making the game longer, they just made you collect a whole bunch of stuff.

Not me, I bought it over a year ago for the PC. Amazing. I phoned my friend up later the same day and ordered him to buy it.

He did. And even though I spent a few hours in advance playing it, he completed it before I did in a single sitting. He loved it that much.

The game's good, save for the fact that instead of making the game longer, they just made you collect a whole bunch of stuff.
For me, the game is the perfect length. 7-10 hours-ish (although I think I played for about 14 hours as I took my time). At least I know I'll play it throught again and again in the future.
