I have somewhat of a cleanliness thing, so I only use urinals in public bathrooms, usually the cleanest thing that is consistently in a public bathroom. And trust me, I've seen some ungodly sights in the stalls, ones that I don't want to repeat here. Sitting in bathrooms is reserved at home for me.
I've an intensely shy bladder, I dislike them and will take the time required to wait for them to clear out.
Luckily, my old high school had some pristine washrooms situated in my usual areas(English/maths and Arts/science). Us drama kids used two washrooms that were kept in freakishly good condition. Maybe us drama kids were just a bunch of neat freaks.

When you're out for a night on the town or just got off a train that you spent 2+ hours on, a public restroom is one of the holiest places you can find. Sometimes they can be quite nasty, especially if it's a McDonalds bathroom in the middle of the city on a Friday night, a sight I hope never to see again as they had to close the bathroom for an hour while they cleaned it.

By law in America, it's required depending on the size of the business. Other than that, I'm totally in agreement. Aside from going number 1, I avoid public bathrooms. I have worked in retail all my life and I have had the unfortunate job of cleaning up after some nasty ass people.
Way back when 10 years ago when I had my very first job we had a public bathroom and it had one of those automatic hand dryer things. Apparently someone thought it was a good idea to twist around the nozzle so it pointed up, vomit in it, then hit the button spraying it everywhere. They had to quarantine it for several hours so the place could be scrubbed and disinfected. I mean, it got on everything. The floor, the walls, the ceiling tiles...everything. I was so thankful I wasn't the one who had to clean it up.
That was just the men's bathroom. The women's one was just as bad sometimes. There was no vomit, but girls would go in their when they were on the rag and throw their bloody ass tampons against the walls and shit. One ***** even threw one in the toilet and tried to flush it and it got clogged. Sometimes there would be bloody pads wrapped around the faucet handles so no one could wash their hands. It was fucking disgusting. And we all know women are notorious for "hovering", and sometimes they'd miss the toilet bowl, so there would be shit and piss on the seat and floor.
That was just the men's bathroom. The women's one was just as bad sometimes. There was no vomit, but girls would go in their when they were on the rag and throw their bloody ass tampons against the walls and shit. Peeing is fine as long as the have urinals and I really, really need to go (I managed not to go to the toilet a half day several times though, if it's possible, better delay it for home). But don't ever touch something you don't have to. I've seen things at highway service stations... I don't know what has been done to these things before I entered so I try to avoid every contact with them.

It wasn't even a HOLE in the ground, it was...a dent in the floor with a creves for the pee to run outside through.
Some plonker did a number 2 and tried to put tissue paper in there. It blocked instantly and was unusable for the rest of the day. Even the family who lived there couldn't use it

Every public I go to is full of phone numbers of people who could 'pleasure' me, once me and a friend dialed one and guess who answered.... my fuking math teacher.

I only use bathrooms if I absolutely need it. And if it's to take a poop, I'd rather shat in my pants.
You see, I only like to use private restrooms, I.E., ones in houses. Unless the house is like really terrible.
But I was at my mom's work (Microsoft.) and their bathrooms were surprisingly awesome. Even the men's room. For once, the only thing wet was the sink!

A few years ago I worked in a cinema and during one of the busier weekends some asshole thought it would be funny to block one of the toilets. Now I don't know what was wrong with the movie goers that day but the fact that the thing was blocked didn't stop any of them from using it up until the point where it was begining to overflow with toilet paper and.....liquid.
So of course it was up to me to fix the mess....even though there wasn't a plunger or anything of the sort in the ENTIRE BUILDING. Hell I was lucky to find the pair of rubber gloves that I ended up using.
Anyways the next thing I know I've got my arms shoved into a toilet so deeply that the water was almost touching my elbows.
......It was the moment I ended up pulling out a solid lump of shite with my hand that I thought this would eventually make a good story on this site.
So of course it was up to me to fix the mess....even though there wasn't a plunger or anything of the sort in the ENTIRE BUILDING. Hell I was lucky to find the pair of rubber gloves that I ended up using.

Strangely enough, most are okay.
