I'm interested.
However I'm just wondering, can I play as one of the "reserved" sins as they still haven't wrote up a character sheet.
If you draw up a character sheet, and they don't, then sure.

Hmm... this seems like quite the interesting idea. I'd say i might join up, but I can't guarantee. I'd probably make a Sloth or Lust character, but if some else gets it first, no problem.

No worries, just let me know.

This looks like a very interesting roleplay, and I'd love to to be a part of it. This will be my first roleplay on the Escapist forums, but I have years of experience elsewhere that I can bring to the table. I may trip up on some of the finer points of etiquette as it has been a while, but if you are willing to put up with me, I'd like to reserve Greed, as I don't believe that's been taken.

Correct me if I am wrong there, but I'll get to work on a character sheet right away and put it up in this post when I am finished.

-edit- let me know if this is good enough.

Name: Kerwyn Smith
Age and DOB: 29, May 28, 1866
Gender: Male
Race and Background: An Englishman born at the height of the Victorian Era, Kerwyn Smith and his family enjoyed an age of relative peace and prosperity. Kerwyn learned his family's business at an early age, and perhaps it was a combination of these factors which turned him into the man he would be. He made his name as a wealthy businessman in London, dealing in his family's textile business and expanding it to new levels of productivity.
He might have turned his business into a household name if not for his untimely and mysterious death in a seedy back alley outside a notoriously rough pub. While the details of his death are unclear, it is known that his sister took over the business, and in doing so discovered the 'secret' to Kerwyn's success. He had been paying well-known criminals for undisclosed 'favours,' and it soon became apparent in the following investigation that, working through these illegitimate auxiliaries, he had slowly muscled all of his competition out of business through extortion, blackmail, and simple bullying.
Personality & Sin: Kerwyn embodies the sin of greed, there is no low he will not stoop to to acquire his one true love in life, money. And while he is not entirely a miser, he is anally meticulous about every last penny he spends. Over his lifetime he had gathered a few enemies, and so had become overly paranoid, he is automatically distrustful of everyone, thinking that they are only there to steal money from him, and will attack without mercy anyone who he actually catches in an act of theft.
Appearance in Purgatory: Kerwyn appears in Purgatory much as he did in life. As a wealthy gentleman of average height and build. However, his normalcy ends there. His hair, including his small, neatly trimmed goatee, and his eyes are a light shade of green. His custom tailored suit, gloves, shoes, and even his cane also share this shade of green, with accents, such as the stitch-work and buttons being made of gold.
How did you die?: To the public, specific details of Kerwyn's death are sketchy at best, what is known is that Kerwyn entered a seedy bar in downtown London late one evening and began throwing accusations of theft at an unknown man. The two got in a brawl which was moved outside into the nearby alleyway and an hour later, Kerwyn was found with a smoking pistol in his hand, and a knife in his chest.
What really happened is not too far from that, a man Kerwyn had been paying under the table for some of these 'favours' he needed doing had been caught by the local police stealing from wealthy businessmen in town. Kerwyn, had somehow reached the conclusion that he had also been stolen from, and immediately sought out this man, unfortunately this thief was better with a knife than Kerwyn was with his pistol.

This looks like a fun RP... I'll just draft a sheet up...
Though, there could be a way to have multiple Sins. Two Lusts could be looking for each other, two Wraths could be out to kill each other etc... Just a suggestion.

Name: Leiknir Ottarson

Age and DOB: DOB: 25th July 964AD. Age: 27

Gender: Male

Race and Background: Leiknir was raised from a young age to be a Viking warrior, and trained for years before being send on numerous raids to Britain. While there, he killed many Brits and destroyed families until his death in 991.

Personality & Sin: The sin of Wrath, Leiknir is a violent warrior who has ruthlessly killed many people in his life. If given provocation and opportunity, he would kill or seriously injure any person, friend or foe.

Appearance in Purgatory: Leiknir appears as he did in life. A six foot tall warrior, wearing leather lamellar armour and carrying his wooden shield, a Dane axe, seax and a spear. Leiknir has near-shoulder length light brown hair and a long beard, and one blue eye. The other eye is red, and is surrounded by blood.

How did you die?: During the Battle of Maldon, Leiknir led a small Viking raiding party attack on the English. He was killed by an Englishman's arrow through his eye, as well as his many other battle wounds.

Looks good, short and sweet. I guess most of your personality would be implicit. Not a bad idea, though I doubt we'd get enough players for that!

Does the sin have to be venial, or can it be mortal? As in, can the action that labels us the sin be an atrocity?
Absolutely, I'm fairly relaxed with how you committed your sin. If there's an issue I'll let you know.

Age and DOB: 17th of April, 1895. Age: 25

Gender: Male

Race and Background: Stewart was destined for greatness. Atleast, that was what he had always told himself as he toiled away on the railroad lines. He would meet a swell gal and settle down with the bank in his pocket. Atleast, that was what he told himself as he went to bed alone in his tenement. One day, Stewart saw the most beautiful thing that he had seen in a long time. She was probably ten, maybe younger, possibly older; he was always terrible with names. He would play with her in the sparse few hours that he had free. He had grown fond of her, and her of him. So, as relationships sometimes go, he wanted more. She didn't scream once, but he couldn't let her go. He couldn't let her tell anyone, even if he did love her. He dumped the body later that night, tarnished and unresponsive. This cycle of 'lovers' continued, him bringing them home and then leaving them somewhere broken and catatonic, until one night a scream pierced through the tenements. Yes, it seemed the newest 'friend' of his was quite vocal, and slightly more violent. He was probably fifteen, atleast, that was one of the last thoughts of Stewart Rexes as he was bludgeoned to death by his neighbors.

Personality & sin: Stewart Rexes is the embodiment of lust. He is rather fond of, as he refers to it, 'plucking the petals' of his often young victims. Stewart acts very curteous to people and never fails to be cheery, even when he is indulging himself on others.

Appearance in Purgatory: Rexes is about average height, but is rather fit from his long, ardous work. He wears a grey uniform, from which red petals occasionally fall from the sleeves. He has a pale face, short brown hair, and sanguine colored eyes. His face appears completely blank, except for his eyes, unless he is speaking; then two mouths form on either side of his face, stretching from ear to chin, but never touching. He carries around a large hammer and seven 'dog spikes' (type of railroad spike).

How Did you die?: As stated above, he was bludgeoned to death by a mob.
Just tell me if I should make some adjustments.

EDIT: Adjusted his crime and added things to his appearance.

Name: Chris Helms

Age and DOB: age 28 DOB 4/21/1895

Gender: Male

Race and Background: Chris was born in Jamestown, Virginia to Mary Chatsworth and James Helms at the turning point of the new century in a middle class neighborhood with 3 sisters. As the only boy, James taught Chris that you had to be strong to get anywhere in life and that strength was all that mattered, so Chris' self worth wavered whenever his strength did. At 19 WW1 started, and at 21 America began to fight for the allies. Naturally, due to his belief that strength meant worth, Chris enlisted quickly and was sent onto the front in November of 1917. For valor in the line of duty, Chris was quickly promoted to a squad leader in August of 1918. After only 4 months as squad leader his squad was sent on a reconnaissance mission on the Austrio-Hungary front, which ended in an ambush killing all but two others in his squad and injuring him. Due to his injuries, Chris was sent home. Between PTSD and an inferiority complex, due to his blaming himself for not having enough strength to save his squad, Chris took up smoking and drinking copious amounts of drugs and alcohol. At the time of his death, Chris was up to smoking 3 packs of cigarrettes and a case of beer, along with various amounts of other alcohol.

Personality & Sin: Chris is the embodiment of Gluttony. Chris at most times is a cynic, and only on rare occasions shows any sign of emotion towards others, and on those rare occasions it's usually because there's something involved in it for him. Though the urge for nicotine was curbed in purgatory, Chris still smokes on occasion, though Chris has stopped drinking... for the time being.

Appearance in Purgatory: In purgatory, Chris is extremely thin though his skin seems a little too big for his body causing wrinkles across his body, hanging from his gaunt frame. Chris has extremely pale skin, almost opaque so you can see some of his vains, also through his skin you can see the black shape of lungs faintly through his skin and the yellow shape of a liver and the small gray circles through the skin where the bullets hit him. His eyes are also an off-white yellowish along with large black pupils and the thin red lines of blood shot eyes.

How did you die?: Chris was killed by seven shots from a Tommy Gun to the chest and abdomen when the speak easy he had been drinking at was raided by the police in 1929 towards the end of prohibition.

Reserve, please. Preferably as a man of Envy.

Though it appears that all the good sins are taken. If I can not be envy, I'll be Apathy, as I have an idea about an Apathetic character and an Envious one.

That was sufficiently disturbing, but interesting character.
I just have to ask to change it a bit, as murder would send you to hell...

Hey now, all sins are equal! But throw a sheet up for whatever you want!

Adjusted his crime and added to his appearance. He now just left his victims catatonic, not dead.

EDIT: Wouldn't Wrath's crime also count as murder?

Is it possible for someone to crawl out of hell and find themselves in purgatory? Just curious...

Errm, no sorry. You have somewhat been held in Limbo before we begin the RP. Though time is somewhat different. Sorry, all for the sake of the story.
