The pyro is voiced by a man, therefore it is a man.
i bring your attention to bart simpson and ash ketchum :p
Good point. But I think there is a difference since Bart and Ash are both cartoon characters and children. Whereas the pyro is a grown up video game character.
Umm... gender of voice actor doesn't always mean the same gender as character, even in adult characters.

For example:

she is played by a guy

Since game-women generally have the hour-glass type body...i doubt anyone would appreciate knowing that pyro is a fat chick.
On the bright side, it might just stop people playing that annoying class

Since the Pyro can do Hadouken, don't we already know it's either Ryu or Ken moonlighting from the day job?

Pyro is a genetically engineered giant marmot. It was desinged to be a slave soldier, without any true gender so as not to get distracted in the camp's showers.

Pyro is actually four ducks standing atop one another.
Somehow that makes sense to me, but i dont know how i am somehow finding it believeable that the Pyro is a stack of ducks...
Or maybe Penguins...
Jup, it's penguins, there is no way in hell that ducks could pull that off.

My theory is that the Pyro is the one genuine difference between Red and Blu- one is male, one is female.

-shrug-

Why not?

Valve tries to fuck with us, no one actuallu knows if he/she is a male or female.
you can see in one of the maps the locker of the pyro, a flamethrower and a pink purse.
there is even a hint in the Meet The Spy trailer at the beginning the Alarm-A-Tron 5000
it says: RED PYRO, IS A MAN, IS A WOMAN.

You can only speculate :)
One other one says IS A ROBOT.
I'm going with boy, look at the Pyro, how is that a girl? And if it was,it would be an UGLY girl too,the Pyro looks like it weighs 200+ pounds.
He's either a mexican stereotype or a geeky Asian/chinese/japanese stereotype.

THE BEST MEET THE PYRO IDEA EVER
Have the usual Meet the- stuff with subtitles, with the Pyro reffering to itself as a girl and boy an even amount of times, and at the end, have the Pyro just taking it's mask off, then going to the ending screen.

MAXIMUM TROLLING.

This thread has been done before.
Recently actually, probably less than a month.

OT: Great, pyro is a girl. Now if you'll excuse me, I need go back to me not using her when I play TF2.

You know the suit is extremely baggy, right? That's part of the reason people are so confused on the gender- it could be skin tight, but general consensus is it's very loose. Ergo, very easy to hide the gender in.
