DRM is meant to kill second hand gaming, not kill piracy.The_Deleted said:EA are concentrating on new IP's for thier future releases and handling them in the same way they do Dead Space with Anime and graphic novels to enhance the experience & deepen the story.
I don't have any hate for EA. They're a business who, having fecked up in the past, do seem to listen to their user base and try to rectify things within the remit of making a profit.
DRM was neccessary but was aimed at the wrong end of the user base.
But someone has to invest in new IP's and EA have the money.Richard Groovy Pants said:EA didn't came up with a single IP of their own for the last 2 years. Or the last 5 if I'm not wrong.The_Deleted said:EA are concentrating on new IP's for thier future releases and handling them in the same way they do Dead Space with Anime and graphic novels to enhance the experience & deepen the story.
On topic, EA games (games actually DEVELOPED by EA) just suck. Madden is a good example.
Dead Space.Richard Groovy Pants said:EA didn't came up with a single IP of their own for the last 2 years. Or the last 5 if I'm not wrong.
Really because I can't find anything about it being around before.Richard Groovy Pants said:That's a filthy lie, the Dead Space universe was already around.
But that's just the thing, they DON'T want to invest/spend money in new IP's.
Instead they want to milk older existing franchises to death, for, well, money.
I call it The Lucas Arts Effect.
Whats wrong with that? Surely that's a good thing.Richard Groovy Pants said:The idea was there, EA just assimilated and effectively pushed it forward.
They don't own R*. They were going to buy out Take Two but when GTA IV didn't do as well as they'd imagined they withdrew.MGG=REVIEWS said:God EA owns to many game company's' rockstar games, valve my god
Yeah. TT were holding back as well. Good point.Richard Groovy Pants said:I never said it was a bad thing, but I was talking about IP's created by EA.The_Deleted said:Whats wrong with that? We all know EA aren't doing this just becuase they love us as gamers. We all know they've had some piss poor output in the past and no doubt will in the future. But atleast they are pumping money into new franchises and getting new games out.
Seems like they're damned if they do and they're damned if they don't.
Long story short Take Two flipped off EA. Good for them.The_Deleted said:They don't own R*. They were going to buy out Take Two but when GTA IV didn't do as well as they'd imagined they withdrew.MGG=REVIEWS said:God EA owns to many game company's' rockstar games, valve my god
EA doesn't own Valve. They just distribute all of the physical copies of Valve's games.MGG=REVIEWS said:God EA owns to many game company's' rockstar games, valve my god
