Quarter life crisis. It's okay, you'll get over it.
Yeah, but I can't afford anything cool like a midlife crisis. No convertible, just an existential crisis of personal identity. Nothing cool.
Existensial crisis of personal indentity is cool insomuch that what happens to you and what you make of it is important. And important can equal cool.

Plus, I know chicks who LOVE brooding.

On topic: I'm not even close to 25, so I can't offer advice, but... Good luck. Try your best at getting a job and all of that, it'll all work out if you let it.

Hey, I just entered my second decade.
I found myself just a few nights ago having to scroll down through a DOB Year menu. That was a little depressing.
Um... Your profile says you were born in 1991. Hate to break it to you, but you're in your third decade. (first decade from 0 to 9, second from 10 to 19, and so on and so forth)

To the OP, just wait til you hit 30. ;) On a more serious note, I can understand where you're feeling, but this too shall pass. If you feel your life lacks direction, maybe it's time to ask the hard questions. Where do you want to go? What do you want to do with your life? Those are very, very hard questions, without immediate answers, most often than not. I found that trying things out and riding out the various storms helped. Just hang in there, and talk about it with close friends. Maybe they'll have more insight (because let's face it, the Internet isn't always the best place to find advice, unfortunately)

As for my 25th birthday, my hubby took me to Venice. It was cold, and there was a foot of water in the streets when the tide came in, but it was gorgeous. So I guess I can't complain. :)
Curse you and your devastatingly accurate semantics!

25 in October.

Dead-end job, still at home, no qualifications...

It's not much of a bother. People despise me for this, but I've always felt like everything is going to be alright, I'm not anxious or angsty about the future at all.

Currently working on getting my drivers license, my father is an instructor, so...shouldn't take too long. Then I'll get a car and a 2nd Fender Stratocaster, throw a band together and start having some serious fun, hopefully put aside as much money as I can in the process.

The way I see it, whilst I didn't get an education, I did spend the last 10 years of my life honing my craft, and it'll be the next period of my life that I spend utilising it.

It's not exactly like I'm miserable now. Life is good.

Almost 5 years latter I still haven't.

Edit: On the plus side at least I'm no longer in McDonalds. Shame that its been replaced with unemployment :(

As of the twenty-ninth of July I turn twenty-five. Christ I'm not taking this well. People say that age is just a number but I can't just shake this being my quarter of a century birthday. I don't seem to have a direction in life. I've at least moved away from living with family, so I'm not a drain on them, but I haven't landed a job in a year. For two years I attended the University of Illinois on a disabled track scholarship, but by the end of the second year that deteriorated to the point that it stopped being even remotely fun or worth it. So any way, sorry for being emo and being a whiny ***** about this. To superficially add some discussion value: How did any one else deal with turning twenty five?

OT: Damn it captcha, I'm too drunk to accurately quote anything! And seriously, Norwegian cruise lines have food that tastes like shit.
Age is just a number. I was ecstatic when I turned 25 because then I could say I was a quarter of a century old. Confused the fuck out of half the people I know out here...I've been unemployed since February. Luckily I have friends(most of them on skype) that I talk to who help keep me sane.

I'm 20, and I'm still not in college. It's going to be embarrassing next year, being amongst all those fresh-faced 18 year old whippersnappers. Really did screw my teenage years up a bit. Oh well, plenty of time left.

Think of 18 as the zero point. You're not 25, you're a 7th-year adult. Or a 4th-year legal drinker.
