I've been thinking about grabbing the new Missing Link dlc as I've been loving the game, but I have a couple questions. I'm hoping someone on here can help me answer them.

1. How is it implemented? I know that it happens during a trip later in the game (i haven't gotten there yet). Does it just go into the dlc section when you get there or do you have the option to skip it? Is it accessed from the main menu like a second game mode?

2. How long is it? If it's less than 3-4 hours that might be enough for me to ignore it.

3. I know you get the opportunity to rebuild your augments from scratch essentially. After beating the dlc do you get your old setup back? If so what happens to the experience you picked up during the dlc?

4. Does it really add anything to the story? Does it fill in plot points that would otherwise be left hanging? (Please keep spoilers to a minimum if you can)

I think it is closest to 'second game mode' you mentioned, I bought it on Steam and it is unlike most DLC (I was left wondering for a while why Deus Ex wasn't automatically updating then I noticed it's another separate 'game' in my Steam library.

Hope you get some answers, I'd like to know this too as I am not going to replay it just yet.

I think it's completely standalone. It doesn't affect the original game, it only adds to the story. I think you would need to manually exit the original and start the DLC(not sure since I didn't try and play it through the main game), after you blow up the shipyard, before you get to Singapore.
It adds a few details to the story. I think it's a nice addition to the main game, and well worth playing, but you won't miss any important facts if you don't play it.
