Question about Vanquish

Alright, so I was having a look in Youtube at the first 30 minutes of gameplay of Vanquish, when I noticed something... odd, and I hope someone can enlighten me?

Is it just me, or is the american president Hillary Clinton?

Edit: Also, for fuck's sake, Japan, enough with the rinse-and-repeat clichés! The gruff old mentor, the emo-looking main character, the sexy assistant, the geek tech guy with glasses... fucking hell, it's getting annoying!

All I've played is the demo, and I don't remember anyone striking me as similar to her.

Eh.. not really. I agree with the second part though, the cliches. I enjoyed the gameplay of the demo, it was pretty fun. The cutscenes and such just annoyed the heck out of me though, no go.

Yeah, I was thinking that, he doesn't look particularly emo. He just looks normal.

I think I heard on the Gametrailers review the president was Clinton, but I wasn't really paying much attention. From what I've seen, I don't think they give a fuck about the story. It's an over-the-top action game with a story that serves as the gameplay's *****. No one gives a fuck why the bridge is blowing up around you, it's just fun to play on a crumbling bridge. If I were to buy Vanquish, I'd just ignore the story because no action games ever go past the "save teh worlds" bullshit, it's dull.

Yeah, but it's almost overdone to the point of parody. It's a Mikami game, so I'm not ruling out the fact that it might be just one big joke.

That's totally Clinton lol. All in all game looks pretty good, but I refuse to pay full price for a 6-8 hour game. I might pick it up in a year or so when it drops down to $19.99.

I guess it looks a little like her, if you look real close. But so far I am looking forward to playing it. It came out today (at least in America) but I dont have the money to spend on it. As soon as I get paid I'm picking this up.

I agree, if a game is fun a simple story will suffice.

I hadn't looked into it too much, but after a quick read, you're definitely right. $60 a game that length with no multiplayer component is a no go for me.

Did you catch the intro? Where he's standing aside, looking smug/depressed while the rest of the crowd goes on with the "party"? I'd say he classifies.

As for the game, well, I'm curious. But as someone else pointed out, the game's short length combined with the current calendar of awesome games every two days, conspires to make sure I'll only get it when it drops in price.
