Question about Vita Games with Download codes

Okay, I'm thinking of picking up the Sly Cooper collection on Vita because I never got to play it the first time round. But from what I've read online the third game isn't on the cartridge and has to be downloaded. Is this actually the case? On the PSN the third game comes in at a whopping 12gb and there is no way in hell I'm scrapping two thirds of my memory card content for that one game!

P.S, are there any other games that pull this? If they are then why the hell can't Sony just produce larger game cartridges? Surely they should have predicted that games would blow past the limit just like PSP games!!

Final Fantasy X/X-2 remaster does this. The original X comes on a cartridge, but X-2 has to be downloaded from the PSN.
Yeah, I don't care for it either. I'd rather have a physical copy.

I don't know about the Sly Cooper collection in general, but I reckon the vita version will be considerably smaller than the PS3 version. In my experience I've never seen a game exceed 3GB on my vita.

If you go on the PSN store via browser it lists the download size for the sly games (you can purchase them individually on there) and Sly 3 comes in at a whopping 12.9gb. That's outrageous when they give out 8gb memory cards as standard and charge through the nose for anything bigger.

Sucks about the Final Fantasy HD collection too, but at least the whole package is a more reasonable 6.3gb. I've not seen anything about download codes listed on the boxes either. What the hell is the point of a physical copy if it only contains half of what you pay for? Even if I splashed out on the larges memory card that the shops sell here I'd loose nearly half of it to one PS2 game I physically own. Someone please tell me it's actually a listing error....

Whilst it doesn't list the collection, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is there and it's 3.27GB.

The only way anything is 12.9GB is if it refers to all three original Sly games, and if that's the case it shouldn't be a problem since you said the only game that you have to download is Sly 3, which should be about a third of 12.9GB at 4.3GB.

I can't see those pages since I'm not in the same territory as you, but those are very clearly the PS3 sizes. The URLs you copy pasted say PS3
Sly 3 Vita is 2631MB.

You are factually wrong. The links you posted are for the PS3 versions of the games, and on the Vita no game ever goes higher than 4GB. Another example is Sly 4 which is about 12GB on PS3 but it's only 3.3GB on the Vita due to lower texture resolutions, lower quality sound and a lower resolution in general.

The God of War Collection is listed as 21.4gb no matter which version you click on. Only seems to be the case with recent games though as PSASBR has separate listings. (don't know if that's just the UK store)

The Sly Cooper games are Cross-Buy games so the 12.9GB is actually the size of the file for both ps3 and vita combined.
