are there any sources of information regarding playing your own music in games and which games let you do it

it's funny, i have almost 4 gigs worth of music saved on my PS3 but the only game that lets me play them is Street Fighter 4 .. and i can't even do that in online battles

is there a site somewhere with a list of games that allow you to play music?? if not can you at least post the games you know can and can't ....

here's my collection

Can play mp3:
Street Fighter 4

CAN'T:
Oblivion special edition
Fallout 3
Ninja gaiden sigma
Dead space
GTA 4
Assasins creed
MGS 4
Armoured core 4
Turok
Jericho (say what u want about it i think it's awesome)

any contribution would be awesome, thank you

Wait. You own Turok? That game is sin incarnate. I took it back after two days, its just awful. OT, I didn't realize you could play music whilst playing any games...

Zen Pinball allows you to play your own music, as will Hustle Kings when it comes out.

Rock band 2 does when in freestyle mode on drums - that's the point, though, to play along with your music.

SF IV was the only game I came across that let me play my music in the background.

I'm not a big fan of listening to my own music instead of the game's soundtrack. Last time I did that on my 360, it was during L4D and I didn't realize that a Tank was on my groups ass until I saw a forklift fly into my face.

There's a reason games have thier own soundtrack, they are trying to create a particular atmosphere.

Usually uploading In Flames or Ne-Yo is not really going to fit in with that.

top of my head. Super Stardust, Warhawk, and Burnout Paradise.... youy already know about Street Fighter, and... thats all i can think of...

but.. and you can beat me if this sounds stupid. When i play a game, I want to listen to the games music, usually, it fits the game, enhances the atmosphere and immersion that so many players crave. listening to Rob Zombie - Superbeast while trying to stealthily assassinate a PMC sniper on MGS4 just doesn't FIT... but driving down a road at 500 miles an hour and t-boning a bus would WORK if Mr Zombie is screaming "Hey YEAH, I'm Your Superbeast!' in your ears.

for some games, having your own soundtrack would work. other games, unless it's your 5th time and you know it backwards, it just... wouldn't.

[edit- between reading and posting, people beat me to my own point....]

I feel your pain, I always thought that you could listen to music in any game, but i was sadly mistaken, none of my games support that feature.

I'm not sure European packaging but in North American ones, there are Playstation Network thing on the top of the album art and on the opposite side there are descriptions of like: in- game music, multiplayer, dlc, add ons etc...

All the games I own won't let you play your own music. Hopefully someone will realise this fatal error and rectify it soon.
You can listen to your music and surf the Interwebs though, if you ever really wanted to do it on the PS3...
