You loot the body because in a situation of respawns, the body has no connection to the consciousness apart from being a temporary vessel. In this way, the body is simply another one of your possessions, like a wallet that you dropped on the road and are simply returning for.

Well, only if I was hungry. And probably the meatiest parts: buttocks, guts, thighs. Humans are animals, you know.

This is the same as the questions about teleportation in Science Fiction. If your old body is destroyed and re-created should you hold a funeral every time and does the soul survive transportation. Obviously not.

The real tricky ethical question is what would happen if you got back to your corpse only to find that there had been some mistake and your original body was badly beaten but still alive. Stick the knife in, loot and run away or share a healing potion?

Is my corpse fresh? then i'd try to make it stand up somehow, with the help of rope. I've never been able to see myself through someone else's perspective.
Then i'd loot me for everything valuable and use me as bait.
