Only time I wouldn't be connected would be when it's impossible to do so - like on the road or in an airplane.

When I'm playing SGR I need to be connected, but when I'm playing something like World in Conflict, I really don't give a shit.

Normally I always connected, so I wouldn't have a problem. But last summer I had a case of my connection dropping out every 10 or so minutes then coming back on line a minute or two later, and just last night my connection went completely for a few hours until I re-configed my router.
Constant online connection for single player is just uneeded and is just anohter case of DRM being taken too far.

I would've said always, but that's unfortunately not always the case.

My connection is dodgy at best, thus approximately two days of a month I play offline. Assassin's Creed 2 and it's DRM would suit me either, since the connection dies for a few minutes a couple of times per day. I'd end up losing so much progress I'd lob my computer out the window.

If my computer is turned on, and my internet is functional, then I'm connected.

That tidbit is unrelated to whether or not a piece of software has good reason to require an internet connection when the experience itself is not benefiting from said connection. At this point, I'd much rather they moved to a USB dongle approach.

The network and thus the internet connection is always online, but it turns itself off and then on again every couple of hours or so. Rather erratic. Not always reliable.
Also, this ISP is abysmal.

I play MMOs and playing games that have regular updates... I usually don't mind having to be connected to the internet... Though I don't like the "requirement" that is imposed by Ubisoft for PC gamers.

I voted 'never', but that isn't quite true. My internet connection isn't stable, it constantly drops in and out. So I'm almost never online the entire time I'm playing a game.

Always. My home's internet starts at my computer. Now my wireless internet...yeah...that's far from consistent. I couldn't even get it to stay long enough to download a Wii System Update until after a few tries.

regardless of how often i'm connected to the internet(wich is all the time) or whether or not i'm buying assassins creed 2 for pc (i'm not). . .. Ubisoft are assholes for handling their DRM like this. Steam should be the model for this kind of thing. It may not be perfect, but it doesn't prevent people from playing the games they've purchased if in situations that are beyond their control like if their connection craps out or the steam servers go down.

Ubisoft needs to remember that the most important thing above and beyond preventing piracy is allowing people who actually gave them money to actually be able to play the games they've actually purchased.

I am only connected when I play world of warcraft.

Which is 90% of the time, but still.

Normally yeah, but things happen and I like having offline games to play without bothering to deal with authentication and stuff like that.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. If I'm connected it's tangental to the activity I'm doing and I do not wish to be limited by it. Not to mention the piles of $60 - 70 dollar coasters that would be generated when the servers get pulled.

Here and there. My dial-up speed internet isn't the most stalble, and loves to crap out right when I'm about to do stuff, like play TF2 with the escapist TF2 usergroup

And it loves to die when I'm doing something important...

I'm USUALLY connected to the internet, but forcing you to be connected at all times just to play a game is pretty stupid.
