I still play the first 3 Guitar Hero's. Everything made after those including Rock Band just seem like pointless cash cows. (Actually I think GH 3 was a cash cow too but at least that had good music... ish.)

...music game titans like Rock Band and Guitar Hero.
There's a difference?
You'd be surprised.
To people who play somewhat regularly there is quite a distinction.
Maybe I'm just fucking weird, but I can clearly tell RB from GH. The first one has better songs, the second has better interface and better-implemented gameplay elements.
So, yeah, Guitar Hero for me.

Groov is by far my favorite music game. And it costs only a buck on Xbox Live Indie Games. If you don't know what I'm talking about, wither check it on youtube or play the trial on the 360. I think it's also available on PC. And i never played Audiosurf, but its concept amazes me.

Rockband 1+2 for me.

New Songs Weekly (!), Cleaner Interface, every part of the experience works and well, it was the first "Full Band" Game.

The newer Guitar Hero Games have nice ideas, but except for the Party Mode in newer ones, none of them worked for me. Good games, but for me, clearly inferior to RB.

Bit trip Beat is a great music game. Think pong meets guitar hero, but with a great electro soundtrack.

I'm going to have to go for the other button on this one. I'm not really one to "rock out" like that, and instead would like to shoot things to the music, making my choice Beat Hazard. I used to like Guitar Hero, but I've lost interest. It's not due to any developer thing. It was just me.
I keep hearing about Beat Hazard, and seen that you got a demo off of Steam in IRC yesterday. What's it like?
This link should tell you all you need to know, but... [http://store.steampowered.com/app/49600]

...to sum it up, you choose a music track, and a game similar to most arcade shooters starts up. Only, your ship is highly influenced by that music you picked. As in, if there's no "beat", there's not really any bullets you're shooting. It all depends on your music.
