If I do actually purchase this game, I will be getting it for the Xbox 360...
Why? Because I do not have a PS3 currently available, so I cannot buy and play FF XIII Versus... which looks so much more interesting...

I have never been into Final Fantasy and 12 sequels to me sounds like it's overstayed its welcome.

12 sequels and at least 3 spin-offs (Crystal Chronicles, Tactics and Tactics Advanced, Dissidia). And I lost interest when the number reached X.

PS3. Seems like it is not even for it though. Damn commercials bought out by Microsoft only show that it is for only Xbox 360 *False Advertisement Claim* anybody.

EDIT: Going tonight bout 10:30/11:00 PM Getting Collector's Edition Hardback Coffee Table Strategy Guide. Not going to school next day.

I guess the PS3, never have played a final fantasy game before, would it be recommended I play any of the others in the series before I get this one?
Not really, besides, playing any of the other games is about a 50 hour investment of your time.

It's hard to explain, but the games tend to exist in their own confined worlds, which is to say, having played 3/6, don't expect to revisit the same places in 10, but there's recurring themes, and there's something about them that makes you feel like you're playing a FF game, such as certain characters, enemies, spells, keep making a comeback.

Oh and unless you truly love this one, you may find it a little hard to step back to FF3 on the SNES, or FF7 on the PS1.

Where is the "FF has become a sub-par series, and so I will not be getting it" option?
You can find that option under the "Obvious Trolls are Obvious" category. If you don't like Final Fantasy, that's fine, but don't go looking for trouble lest ye want to be proved a jerk.

Anyway, I've got both systems but gosh darn it I bought a PS3 for FFXIII so I'm damn well using my big black beast for it.

That will be in a new thread tomorrow somewhere in Gaming Discussion, probably.
But not worded as nice as that.

OT: I shall be getting it on the 360 as that is the only console I have available to me.
Unless they release it for the PS2 as well.

Probably the 360 version, as that's the console I own, and there's not room in my budget for a new console at the moment.
Then again, there's not room for a new game either.

But the console is always connected. Which means that when I play on Live, even a single-player game, I can see what my friends are doing, send/get messages, and all the other things that entails. It's a nice convenience.
