Definitely the Great Wall. It has an awesome bonus, plus it's HUGE and really pretty.
Second in line would be Machu Pichu. Beautiful and a great bonus.

I dont agree with that. When the game starts to recommend building woodcutter places on hills, then you know it is wrong. They dont provide as much production and are therefore worthless on hill tiles in my opinion. Yet for some reason, my forest-hills seem to be clogged up with them.
Maybe the computer is assuming you'll get steam power later on, which adds 1 production. Woodcutter also still provides food, so maybe that's why. It tends to spam trading posts all over the place though, which i personally find annoying, but i do tend to have money problems so i guess it has a point with doing that.

Edit: for wonders, i'm thinking India + Forbidden Palace + some policies might be an interesting combination. Forbidden Palace definatly helps with the happiness. But the piramids are quite useful too. And i like stonehenge. And so on. It's difficult to choose one wonder.

I've never played a Civ game really, I should probably correct that...
But to the wonders, with a none game play standpoint and based on a quick Google search for a list I say Notre Dame or the Great Wall.

The Pyramids! I mean, it's one of the first wonders, and when you build it, you know you just pissed off 6 other people.

The Pyramids- It's useful to any Civ, it means you can drastically increase your land's productivity by speeding up improvement construction.
I'm quite new to the Civ series so could you tell me how much workers would be best to have? I've only built workers so far if I don't have any other seemingly useful stuff to build.
Workers build roads, which speed up your army and make trade routes, which are very useful. They fertilize lands, they make improvements on ANYTHING expect desert and sea. +50% worker production will lead to you flourishing the first part of the game.
