NOOOO, What!? Bertrand Russell all day! Best, most underrated philosopher ever. Daniel Dennett runs a good second.

ULTIMATE INTELLECTUAL BADASS:

Probably the single most important figure in 20th Century Philosophy.

Descartes, just for giving my Higher Philosophy class a good laugh at how circular and futile his entire meditations are.
I've never seen religion so sloppily shoehorned into an epistemological theory as with Descartes.

I dunno, Berkeley'd give him a run for his money.

If you can be bothered: http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/berkeley/#3.1.3

I voted for Locke. Yep. Good ol' John Locke.

An inspiration to us all.

Failing that, I'd go with Hobbes.

OT: Aristotle.

There are many people whose ideas resonate more with me than those listed, such as Lao Tzu and René Guénon, but for the sake of poll-diversity, I'll vote for Wittgenstein. No on has influenced how I read philosophy quite so much. Other thinkers I hold in high esteem: Bertrand Russell, R. Scott Bakker & Carl Gustav Jung.

Plato and Aristotle, but no Socrates? Disappointing...
Oh well, there are only so many poll options.
Don't kill me because I'm picking Aristotle. The only reason is he is the only philosopher that I learned anything significant about.
