Sarcastic Response: I will continue to make fun of Justin Bieber in the exact same way I made fun on 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys. As far as I am concerned, that is part of his job. Fame and fortune comes at a price. If he is really that sad about it he can go home and cry him self asleep on his king sized mattress stuffed with hundred dollar bills.

Real Response: Personally, I am glad people like Bieber are around. It gives me someone to poke fun at, and that makes good conversation. Nothing unites people like a common enemy, but having real enemies is no fun. So we take advantage of the existence of pop icons we dislike to bridge gaps and have fun without causing real divides. Some people take it too far, but this type of "hate" for fun behavior is a generally good thing.

Plus, all he has to do is prove himself and I'll come right around. I used to "hate" Justin Timberlake (by default as he was a member of 'N Sync) but he has proven himself worthy of my respect. Same with Leonardo DiCaprio, who I despised for being the pretty boy star of titanic (which I hated because people just wouldn't shut up about it.) He is now one of my favorite actors.

To answer the last part of your image, no, I wouldn't. I don't want to be famous. I don't want the public spotlight on every last little action I do. I don't want the tabloids going nuts every time I take a shit. And I damn sure don't want to get all of that because I'm following the orders of some random guy that knocked on my door.

Most likely I'd call the fucking police and tell them some random creep is trying to enslave me, let them sort it out.
Again, someone did not read it clearly. That or I suck at saying what I mean.

As I state and quote "A man with billions of dollars can give you all your hopes and dreams."

It does not say fame and fortune, it says hopes and dreams. Meaning what you desire most. Justin wanted a singing career. What do you want the most? What if a business man promised you that, and it was certain it would happen, the only catch would be to follow what he says without any real physical harm to you. You would take the offer too, would you not?

Nothing wrong with him? Really? I mean, he sold out his ideals for fame and money rather than maintain some form of artistic integrity (assuming he ever had such a thing). Yeah fine he's being used by the record companies etc but he could've said no. He could still say no. He could say I want people to take me seriously as an artist and drop all the sugar coated bullshit if he decides that what he's doing isn't what he wants.

Bet you he doesn't though.

Compare that to the musicians out there struggling for recognition when they're writing and performing genuinely innovative music but who still plug away because they love what they do and I'd say hell yeah he's a figure worthy of ridicule. I definitely hate the people behind his popularity more than I hate him but I stand by my opinion that he's a moronic puppet with a corporate hand so far up his arse he can't go for a shit unless his manager or whoever pulls out long enough for him to go.

And before you try it NO! I would not do what he's done. Not in a million lifetimes. Art, no matter what form, is way too important to me for that shit not to bug me.

Also this^ I'm more than willing to change my mind if somebody does something I find impressive. I didn't rate James Franco as an actor until I saw 127 hours. Didn't like DiCaprio for the same reasons as above. People can grow beyond this kind of thing but until Beiber does I'm going to carry on calling him a talentless fuckwit.

My issue with him comes that as being a musician I could work my ass of day in day out playing shitty gigs and writing some really original music and could get nowhere yet he has made a success by just pandering to 14 year old girls and making generic boring pop music.

i salute you, your logic and would like to thank you for trying to enlighten the ignorant.

onto the topic, i agree with you but honestly i hated him when i was young until i realized that my 'hate' was unreal for the guy and more of what the world forged him into, these type of thoughts remove the capability of hate in my mind and replace it with pity.

You can hate his music all you want. Just stop hating him. Stop being ignorant.
First off. Unless you are some kind of deranged psychotic individual. You do not "hate" Justin. You merely severely dislike him, these two things are not synonymous.
Okay, with that out of the way. I have never said, nor will ever I say that he is gay. (unless he actually is gay, though this is unlikely.)
So not why I dislike him.
Secondly, you assume I don't dislike Katy Perry. This is also false. I think she's even worse than Bieber. But that's for another time.
And lastly you assume I would bend over to some corporation for money. There are no words in the English language strong enough to describe how wrong that insinuation is.
So unless you have any other startling conclusions to make. I will continue to dislike Bieber and his ilk.
So, having a well rounded and reasoned opinion makes me ignorant because it doesn't conform with your opinion?

Nah, I cant really bring myself to hate this little douchebag. I only have a finite amount of hate in me, and most of that I have to reseve for Cheryl Cole. You want a real idiot? Look no further than her.

Agreed. I may not like his music, Justin Beiber does absolutely nothing to irritate me whatsoever.
Now Justin Beiber hate on the other hand, is something I cannot go a day without having to put up with

I "hate" him for the same reason I hate all the people on shows like American Idol. You are doing it wrong, you don't just prove you are pathetically marketable because you beat a bunch of people that you were competing with in what is essentially a sponsored popularity contest and then get heralded as some innovative next big thing. He's a disgusting corporate sellout and his music and his music's fanbase embody everything that is wrong with modern entertainment.

The hate he gets online is mostly memetic humour anyway. People do it because that's what you're supposed to do I guess. Like the way everyone applauds Chuck Norris.

What you've said boils down pretty much to

What wouldn't you do for a billion or two?

And I laugh at the people who say they wouldn't invalidate their personal integrity, because 99% of you are lying to aspire to a moral standard.

And if you truly would NOT take the money, I respect your well placed ideals, but would consider you an idiot.

Because its a billion, or two.

Well, I have no faith in humanity in the first place. The world is full of idiots, tyrants, criminals, bastards, and no amount of outstanding intelligent super-scientists that cure cancer while they sleep is ever going to change that.

Bad apples spoil the bunch I'm afraid.

Just watch the Jeremy Kyle show or Jerry Springer... That's when you will realize that there is an entire network of those sorts of people. Millions of them, just milling about doing fuck all for society.

Sigh... This is how suicides happen...

While he might be nice, sincere, etc. (or he could be a jerk, I don't know him personally) his name still represents unjust and immoral causes. Since the name is all most of us have to go on we judge him on what we can see. While his songs are not about getting drunk and getting laid they still don't represent (his) personal expression and human experience.

Yes, I'd probably do the same thing in his position (especially at his age) but if I had the same mindset I have now I would eventually do something about the way my career was headed because there is no excuse when he has/gains the freedom to choose how to use his own money. Eventually I hope he learns the true nature of those he represents and learns to take risks, becomes independent, and moves towards creating something more expressive and personal over just following the easy route.

For now Justin Bieber is a poor excuse for a musician until proven otherwise. He may be a puppet but until he cuts the strings he's no better then the masters controlling him because right now he represents the same corrupt principles they do.

When you say that do you mean the people on the show who's problems are overinflated for interest and profit for the network or the hosts themselves who allow that to happen?

Yeah basically, I was going to make the point of celebrities being as inclusive to the public as these regulars on Jeremy Kyle and Jerry Springer only with a lot more money and better teeth. But I trailed off toward the end... :L

My only problem with Justin Bieber isn't even a problem with him, it's a problem with our culture. It may be just me, but I am so sick and tired of having to hear that some dumb celebrity ate french fries and it blew your mind.

I really am tired of hearing about Justin Bieber. You hear about him on TV, Radio, and of course, the internet... ugh...
