I just found a nice little idea in the comments section of Angry Joe's review of this game:
WE are the alternate realities.
Think about it. We all experienced the same adventure but we came at it with different preferences for weapons, vigors tactics, what have you. We made different moral choices, although c'mon who DIDN'T choose the bird?
Constants and variables.
I don't know about you guys but I think that's a REALLY cool idea.
Every last one of us is just one of the many universes.
