Okay, so I'd really like to get DA:O, but there's a small problem: the violence it seems to contain. It doesn't bother me, but I still live at home, and my parents aren't all that tolerant. Is there an in-game option to turn down the gore?
Great, that's exactly what I was looking for!TexaNigerian said:There is an option to turn down the gore (that I wouldn't dream of using save to see what it does)right there in the title options menu.
I imagine that it turns the game into a Mideval version of Knights of the Old Republic, violence wise.
I already have enough. That would just give me more for the Government to track me with.UltimatheChosen said:Great, that's exactly what I was looking for!TexaNigerian said:There is an option to turn down the gore (that I wouldn't dream of using save to see what it does)right there in the title options menu.

You, sir, get a cookie. Maybe.
No, there isn't. You can disable PERSISTENT gore that your characters get covered in during fights (you literally walk away from battles soaked in blood), but there'll still be decapitations, spurting blood and other cheery things like that. Not to mention the cutscenes, especially those involving Blood Magic (the name tips it off).UltimatheChosen said:Okay, so I'd really like to get DA:O, but there's a small problem: the violence it seems to contain. Ok lets get this straight, if you get it for the PC, and Gore is really an issue, then the game turns it off when you change the Detail slider to Low or Medium.UltimatheChosen said:Okay, so I'd really like to get DA:O, but there's a small problem: the violence it seems to contain. Hey thanks for answering my question before I had a chance to ask it. That bloodsplatter thing is quite annoying during cutscenes when it doesn't fit (like during the ritual where it does fit). I was about to ask if persistent gore would turn that off.Jandau said:No, there isn't. It's a violent game.
I dunno. You would think they would at least wipe thier faces or something. I have a ton of leather armor and blank pieces of paper why not wipe thier face with that? Not like the merchants are gonna care if I used them as napkins first.MarsProbe said:The persisent gore thing is quite the strange thing, though I suppose it makes sense. Especially for the warriors and rogues when they are engaging in melee combat, they are bound to get some of the old you-know-hue on their pristine armour.
Speaking of the warriors, I find it funny, but rather convenient, that my Mabari is a more reliable tank type than Alistair seems to be. I could have done with a dog like that in Fable II....
Who knows? I have a lot of that Blank Vellum stuff and have yet to find a use for it, so maybe in the meantime they could just use it to clean themselves up. All that blood, and I haven't even chosen the Blood Magic specialisation yet.squid5580 said:I dunno. You would think they would at least wipe thier faces or something. What I really want to know is why they made it so tame. If you are going to go for that kind of appeal then why not go all the way? I wanna see my characters soaked in blood. Sure the first kill gives you a few spots but after hacking the 20th guy in a row the only thing that shouldn't be red is thier eyes.MarsProbe said:Who knows?
