Quick question about Mario Galaxy

Ok, this stupid question has been bugging me for a few... years, now.

Here goes: am I the only person in the universe who just can't play Mario Galaxy? It's one of the most critically acclaimed game in the series, each and every gamer I have talked to loved it, and I just can't get into it. It's not Mario (I love Mario games), and it's not the 3D; it's the spheric levels/upside down combo.

It's worse than hate: I just can't play it.


So go ahead and tell me: is it a disease? Can it be cured? Am I doomed, and alone?

i absolutely love it and am very good with it.
got all 121 stars in about 10 hours (including screwing around time, which is alot!)

OT: Then don't play it. Why should you care about what's popular and what's not? What happened to having your own opinion?

I didn't really care for it as much as 64 for whatever reason(the controls?) and I speed ran the entire game and got all the stars on both Mario and Luigi in 4 days, then proceeded to not play the game ever again.

I don't care about what's popular and what's not, I was only wondering why I just can't play it. Kind of a strange feeling not being able to play past the first level of a Mario game. I love this series (well, Sunshine doesn't count, does it?). It's like writing a thesis on Shakespeare's tragedies and not liking Hamlet.
