I don't understand why it would be an issue. Isn't it really hard to do?
Not if you play alot, you start firing even before you zoom in for the kill, and as soon as you figure out that it works, you never stop.

This topic has been done. they called it Quickscoping, not Quick Scoping.

OT: It's stupid, pointless, and useless, its just to piss people off

I don't care in the slightest that people do it. I do care that there are people who think that's how actual snipers operate.

I don't like it, it feels wrong.

But since most FPS are about being intsa-killed by rapid fire weapons it is understandable.

I think the need to quickscope is retarded. The tactic itself is just getting around a wholly unrealistic interpretation of how a sniper rifle fires. I prefer the Halo approach, where the thing is amazingly accurate even when unscoped (which can actually be pretty damn hard to aim). CoD, on the other hand, thinks that if you're not looking through the scope that your sniper rifle should shoot at a 45-degree angle from the barrlel.

Well, as the nature of the game allows it, I'm not gonna complain about. What I am gonna complain about, is the stupid fucked up brains of developers who would program the game so one could actually do that. The most depressing part is that unless you have innate knowledge of where people are likely to be and how the sway will effect your shot, assault rifles often turn out more useful.

It goes against the whole idea of using a sniper rifle and pointing in the vague direction of the enemy and abusing auto-aim is not any show of skill.
Auto-Aim? Really?

It does take some practice to quick scope, and some people are a lot better at it than others, and it doesnt work all the time, so I'm cool with it.

I've never really had a problem with quick scopers. It has never seemed very effective against me. I've tried it out before with limited success so I kind of respect people who can do it well.

If you don't like the topic don't wade into it. We can move on in our own sweet time.

I'm a good sniper but I just can't learn how to quickscope.

Honestly, I prefer following your enemy with your scope and taking that one, perfect shot at the last second.
Same here. But aren't you discouraged slightly when you scope in for a game winning kill and get abuse hurled at you for doing so?
I've never been insulted for properly using the sniper rifle, no. But I've seen people shouting "WTF HARDSCOPE NOOB" at others. Seriously, "hardscope"? Who the hell comes up with these terms?

I guess some people really think that you're a noob if you use a sniper rifle the way it's meant to be used.

It pisses me off to know that someone out there has absolutly no life enough to have to snipe me with out using the scope, but rather, the moment before the scope from half way across the map, instead of being the sane enough person to just snipe me with "Hard scoping" like any other normal human being.

I play tf2 - it's not a problem there. It's a beautiful utopia... join our hatsssssss...
I'll consider it when it stops boring the shit out of me.

OT: No it's not a problem as it doesn't inherently throw off the game's balance.
