Directly or indirectly the child will be affected in a way that will shift their views toward becoming homosexual instead of choosing for themselves.
And of course having straight parents would in no way shift a child's view of possibly being homosexual, instead of being used to the social norms of being straight. I'm sorry, but your logic just fails me.

Well of course being raised by strait parents doesn't affect them too bad because the majority of homosexuals come from strait families.

Ya that logic was kinda lost on me to. Yes parents can influence children, but still children will always learn what is best for them. Example: My parents are religous and i want nothing to do with it I learned on my own that it just wasn't for me. Every child decides for themself at a point in time who they are and what they like, it's about discovering your identity.

Now if homosexual parents forced their ideas on them then your statement would be more accurate.

So what you're implying is that straight parents have no effect on the child's natural coming of age regarding sexuality, while homosexual parents do.... I call bullshit unless you present some viable evidence for your case.

And that is a thing that straight parents can do as well. And just make it clear, I'm agreeing, and adding upon to your point.

What does that have to do with anything that I just said?
Of course thats a horrible thing. As I stated above (which you so kindly snipped out)
"I don't think gays are bad people, they don't have any less rights than strait people do. They aren't stupid."
They're regular people like everyone else. The only difference is that they have a different sexual preference. And I am deeply saddened by the fact that we live in a society that ridicules people as much as they do for just that one part of their personality. /RESPONSE TO RANT THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING
Seriously, where did I saying that had anything to do with teenage suicide?

Also, people don't kill themselves just people are ridiculing them. Thats obviously a major contributing factor, but suicide isn't a normal part of a healthy human psyche. Statistically, the large majority people (mainly teens) who kill themselves over things like that have serious underlying mental health problems.

you said that obviously being raised in a straight family doesn't badly affect homosexuals because the majority of homosexuals come from straight families.
i said that the issues caused by having to come out to straight parents (i.e. fear of being shamed, ridiculed or disowned) are one of the biggest caused of suicide among teenagers (a study [http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/cgi/content/full/123/1/346?ijkey=NrncY0H897lAU&keytype=ref&siteid=aapjournals] "lesbian, gay, and bisexual young adults who reported higher levels of family rejection during adolescence were 8.4 times more likely to report having attempted suicide"). i'd say that causing them to commit suicide counts as badly affecting them wouldn't you? while allowing gay adoption isn't going to magically fix that stating that having to come out to straight parents has no effect is stupid and ignorant as hell.

plenty of people kill themselves due to being ridiculed for whatever reason be it just general bullying or some form of bigotry and to say that all of them must be mentally ill is just sickeningly ignorant.

also "the majority of homosexuals come from strait families" where exactly do you expect gay people to come from? i don't know if you've noticed but a homosexual couple can't reproduce or (some places) adopt and there are a lot more straight couples than gay anyway. so what you said is basically a tautology.
