Fable is an enjoyable game, with a lot of humour which continues throughout every game, ive never taken the story that seriously as the game its self doesnt take it too seriously either, ive always liked going through them anyway, Fable 3 got slightly clever with a twist or 2 and gave the character some actual personality other than a mute.

possibly with it being on Kinect in this format will make it more appealing to other people who have been uninterested in the series so far, still it wont be to everyones cup of tea.

I was so excited when the trailer started. I thought they were finally going to kill the oracle so we could have stuff like suspense and plot twists in the story.

Then it turned out to be a rail shooter where you are protecting the oracle by waving your hands like a traffic cop on acid. :(

R.I.P Fable I used to love you.
I'm still astonished people play rail shooters outside arcades.

Speaking of arcades, do those things still exist too?
actually there kinda fun on the wii as a cheap fun time for a few hours maybe a day or 2 but I dont think i would spend any serious time on one or even anything over 10$

To me (ignoring the kinect hate) it looks very fun and good quality, seems a little unlikely at difficulty for the spell casting.
I must agree. The on-rails aspect bothers me (I've never liked on-rails), but it looked surprisingly good. Plus, how can you not love those hobbes? They had more personality than the Fable III hobbes, and those suckers could be down right adorable.

To be honest, I think Journey is meant to fill the space in between Fable and Fable II.
Theresa is quite young in it. There are no heroes. That seems to fit that time.
Although the darkness is in there, but that could have easily been there during the 500 years we skipped from Fable to Fable II.
I doubt this is meant to be an honest sequel, in any case.

Completely off topic: But I still want Milo and Kate, though. That better turn into a real game at some point. D;

EDIT: Peter just talked some more on Spike and it looked like it will be a full game (at least he kept talking about it like it'd be bigger). I thought it would be an Arcade game kind of thing. But apparently it's got a real story and whatnot. Not sure if that makes me more or less excited. >>

That sounds like a darn exciting game...........not
Yeah, there's a reason they're mostly in arcades :p

I've heard House of the Dead: Overkill and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicales were good, though. But I would imagine they're exceptions.

I saw the coverage for this...I couldn't believe it. I liked Fable II (more or less) and Fable III was eh, but this. This is just...what is it? I don't even...

I'm amazed people actually like the Fable games to be quite frank. They're shallow in every aspect and they don't do anything new.

Fable II was probably the biggest disappointment of a purchase i've done games wise.

I'm not sure I would have bought Fable 4 anyway. Fable 3 was a piece of shit.

But making it a Kinect game makes it an easy decision for me. No way am I ever getting a Kinect.

What?! Do you have any links for this, because I want to laugh more.

Talk about going down hill... and then falling off a cliff :D
Then falling down a well.
Then finding out that there's a portal at the bottom of the well...that's connected to the hill that it just went down.

Because rail-shooters always kill a series.

I mean look at what Link's Crossbow Training did to the LoZ series. We'll never have another proper Zelda game ever again...

There is a place for rail shooters. In an arcade with a big, pink plastic gun. That's always been fun. But there aren't many expectations for those. Fable has a following and a certain expectation regarding storyline and depth. I feel like it won't be able to achieve this as a rail shooter.

Also, fuck kinect.

But is that an official Fable 4 or just a spin-off?

Because if it's a spin-off then I think you might be overreacting.

People still enjoy having their dreams crushed by being hyped up as hell and then realizing it's just a hack&slash with fart mechanics...Fable The Lost Chapters was nice, but then it went downhill really quickly.

I can't imagine ANY game turning out well when it's envisaged as a "Kinect rail shooter". You could get Shinji Mikami, Shigeru Miyamoto and Tomonobu Itagaki together to work on a new game and they'd run screaming from the room at the very mention of the phrase.

peter?....ugh :(.

But no, the franchise has not died or will not yet. This isn't even a sequel, just Fable the Journey which is most likely just a random spin off.

Lion Head, before the release of Fable II announced that they were going to make Fable 3, 4, and 5. We will just have to see if one of those 2 (4 and 5) will either be a proper sequel to Fable 1. Despite the fact that i enjoyed Fable 2 but Fable 3 was not horrible or really bad by any means, just showed nothing compared to the first one.

hah me and my friend picked up house of dead overkill for the wii one night when some people were over, its hilariously over the top stupid, but its awesome because of that, but we got it for 10 bucks, so it was a steal, but not worth more than that at all
