I've been following it closely, and I'm trepadatious but excited all the same. Not just dragons, either; have you seen how many freaking fightings we're getting? Plus, revamps of old mon's much? Blaziken. Speed Boost. Goodbye Infernape, goodbye Pokabu! You were never as cool as the kickboxing chicken! >=DSilverUchiha said:Actually, Gen 5 is adding a shit-ton of dragon-types. Check out the list on Bulbapedia. And a lot of them are Pure-Dragon. There is a Dragon-Ice, Dragon-Electric, Dragon-Fire, Dragon-Dark... It's pretty crazy. Last Gen was the highest number of legendaries. Now we get dragons. It's insane.
Actually, gen 5 Ditto is pretty awesome. Its ability automatically copies stats/moves so you can take out your opponent's strongest pokemon.Arnoxthe1 said:Who uses flareon anyway?

I didn't mean in UU, I meant in general. Yeah, it may be viable in UU, but no one in their right mind will use Venusaur in OU. It's outclassed by other pokemon.Amyler said:Check out the UU tier. Venasaur is a beast among its bretheren. Swords Dance + Power Whip = Murderous bastard. Add in Sleep Powder and you're more or less garunteed the power to set up and sweep.Defense said:I always had a soft spot for Venusaur, if only for nostalgia. It's not Meganium bad, but it's pretty bottom-tier in the metagame, and the grass/poison typing almost guarantees it from the get-go.
Myself, I love Flygon. It's not that he's bad ... but really guys? Another Ground/Dragon in the next generation with higher base stats in Everything and a better movepool? Bah.
Did someone say legendary?SilverUchiha said:Amyler said:Check out the UU tier. Venasaur is a beast among its bretheren. Swords Dance + Power Whip = Murderous bastard. Onyx...You know my PBR teams I've made. You know who I use and what tier they fall in.Onyx Oblivion said:Dear Game Freak,
Can you stop making Flareon suck? Can you at least give it Earthquake or Flare Blitz? Or some kinda decent physical attack moves? Flareon has a massive attack stat, and absolute nothing to do with it. Flareon is actually better off using a special attack based moveset, and that's a damn shame. Super Power ain't enough. No STAB. Stat drop after use, and poor type coverage.
All the other Eeveelutions are totally viable in one way or another.
Espeon is Psychic death. Umbreon can tank and stall. Vaporeon can tank, sweep, stall, heal, and do it all. Jolteon is fast as fuck, and an exceptional Baton Passer. Leafeon has a great attack and defense stats, and a varied movepool to go with it. Glaceon is a pretty damn good Ice type, with good special attack.
It's Generation 5.
You have actually had 6 chances to fix Flareon merely by adding a few moves...Gen 2. Gen 3. Fire Red/Leaf Green. Gen 4. Heart Gold/Soul Silver. And now...Gen 5. And you still make Flareon suck.
R.I.P. Flareon
And F.U. Game Freak.
Worst Wishes,
Onyx
____________
STAB = Same Type Attack Bonus, meaning that if a pokemon is the same type as the move it used, it does 1.5x damage. 1.25x for dual type pokemon.
For some discussion:
What's your favorite pokemon to use that actually sucks?
I know Aerodactyl doesn't suck (due to speed up the ass), and I don't think Muk or Kabutops suck either. Seadra kinda does, though.Bobic said:Muk - I love that fat lumox.
Seadra - I love that crazy little psycho
Aerodactyl - Damn you'se be rockin
Kabutops - Check out your bitchin blades
I pick pokemon based purely on looks so, to be honest, most of them suck .
In Gold, I had two. I never could figure out why they fainted so often if I didn't use Fly (I normally didn't have both at the same time).Mezmer said:Pidgeot. Looks so majestic, but in actuality sucks donkey penis.
I loved Hitmonchan and Sneazel. Sigh.zenoaugustus said:I agree, I love using the Eeveelutions, and it is a shame Flareon sucks.
I can't think of any pokemon that I use frequently that is no good. Hitmonchan (Hitmonlee is so much better, but I like having both) sucked until generation 4, so I'll go with that.
Yeah that's the one I was talking of, but I a misunderstood what it was. I thought it was a sort of "This move is going first, no argument" kind of ability.TerranReaper said:There's an ability that allows to increase the priority by one, but it's not enough to help matters.Anchupom said:Isn't there an ability that prioritises non-damaging moves in Gen 5 now? Quick "GTFO, Aron" right there.TerranReaper said:Correct, those could work, you just have to ensure you don't damage the Aron with a move that would normally kill it. Keep in mind though, not a lot of teams carry Roar or Whirlwind, plus they are low priority moves, and Toxic will leave the user with only 12-13 hp, which it would most likely guarantee a revenge kill after the Aron is dead.Anchupom said:Here's the Magikarp Sweep mentioned earlier:Prof. Monkeypox said:Exactly, as I said, all I can think of is a ghost.TerranReaper said:Well, the thing with the level 1 aron is that it is currently banned for use. Reasoning is that there are very little counters to it and you will always need one slot on your team to specifically counter it.Prof. Monkeypox said:Oh man, that was some nice meta-game thinking.TerranReaper said:Along with a Weedle sweep. Gen 5 also introduces the Level 1 Aron sweep.Prof. Monkeypox said:Yeah, I think I saw that. I believe he tanked with a focus band, and used flail after baton-passing a ton of attack and speed.Polock said:Funny you say that.Prof. Monkeypox said:My favorite pokemon that sucks?
Do Magicarp or Abra count?
I have a soft-spot for those two.
If not, the caterpie line of evolution. I just think they're pweety.
I saw a youtube video of a guy with a level 100 magikarp defeat an entire team of legendary pokemon (also level 100).
Someone want to quote me and post that vid? I can't find it. Funny stuff.
Come to think of it, I saw something similar with a caterpie...
Too bad the other guy didn't have any ghost types.
Must think of new counter...
However, I wonder who came up with it, or how long it took for it to occur to them.

And on the Aron sweep, couldn't something that resisted sadnstorm, something with Toxic or something with Roar or Whirlwind just end that sweep?

If you give us a reason as to why they suck...ForgottenPr0digy said:I thought Flareon and others were females not male................ChromeAlchemist said:I thought this was going to be a thread about how Flareon was good and now he's crap...because he's always been crap. I'm glad you know this.
Thing is, because he sucks so bad, I'm not too bothered about him still sucking. I've always preferred the tank properties of Vaporeon, and the blistering speed of Jolteon. I just look at Flareon and think "meh, I've got Arcanine...".
So does that mean Blastoise,Nidoking,Ninetales,Arcanine,Alakazam(Kadabra,Abra),Marowak(cuebone),Kabutops and Dragonite all suck now??
