First Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor, now Lemmy.

This is far and away the worst news I've heard all year. I didn't even think it was even fucking possible. I've seen Motorhead pretty much once a year (often more) for well... ever; it's just going to be wrong going through a summer without being deaf for half of it afterwards.

I'm surprised he managed to live to 70 at all, what with the drink and drugs and whatnot.

With his lifestyle, I'm pretty sure he should have been dead about 30-40 years ago, the fact that he lived this long is nothing short of incredible. One of the most iconic figures in metal, he will be missed

Way to cap off a horrible year by losing Lemmy.
Afraid i have to agree with that
I just read a review in a rock magazine with him, it is right there on my small bureau with him on the front page and the quote
"you might as well die from something you enjoy"

I'm shocked by Lemmy's death. Almost as shocking? Keith Richards is still alive, age 72.

First Terry Pratchett, then Lenny Killmister... Did I forget someone else who died this shitty year?

They might not be able to play live anymore, but you can't kill Motorhead, Lemmy made sure of that in his lifetime.

Some of his other fine moments... (best played at full blast)

Flipping Oliver Sacks as well. Most don't know him, but it made ME upset as anything. ;___;

Why are all the celebrities I know and like all so old?

God dammit, all the great people are dying this year. Lemmy and the crew changed metal forever back in their day (speed metal, thrash metal, and black metal, not to mention all the other styles that grew from those genres, all directly owe their creation to Motorhead) and of all of the old NWOBHM bands, they have had the most consistently good (and just plain consistent) musical output over the years. That is not to mention the scores of classic tunes that came from the band! This is really the end of an era. :(

But, at least he can now teach the devil a thing or two about how to really Rock n' Roll. :)

TEACH the Devil? He'd sarcastically thank him for "Keepin' me seat warm" before telling him to piss off and claim he's in charge now.

God on the throne of hell, though? I dunno... That does sound metal as shit, however... XD
