Chances are if hang out on the internet, you've accidentally said something racist which you didn't notice until it was to late.
For instance, once me and my very sensitive black friend were talking about the justice system, and I made a joke about how I was to white to ever do serious jail time... it ended very badly for me.
So I was wondering what other stupid things other people accidentally said.

I feel I should point out that I Know that #1) my joke was not really racist, and #2) Its not racism if there's no genuine hatred behind it.

Sexist or homophobic comments can go here as well.

I once made a joke about the prophet Mohammed in class. It did not end badly for me.

I don't think I've ever said anything discriminating without meaning to, tongue-in-cheek or otherwise.

It did? Sounds to me like your friend is a little too serious me thinks.

OT:
Never gotten in any trouble.
Sure, I crack the occasional racist joke, but it's always meant as a joke.
Never had anyone take offense to it.

One of my first comments here was a little offensive to a religious group and I got suspended.

If anything, your comment (the OP) is pointing out that the justice system is racist. That doesn't make you a racist.

OT: Once i was drinking watermelon flavoured water, my black friend asked me what flavour it was. I replied 'Its watermelon, you might like it'. He fliped out (at this time i was unaware of the association with black men and watermelons)

I accidentally blurted "NIGGA STOLE MY BIKE" when playing Halo 3 with a black friend of mine. The pain was brunged.
How did you come to that thought while playing Halo 3?

I believe that if you didnt intend to offend, its not racism.
Exactly but as long as the person/people you say it to know's its not intended.
We have a dwarf (i hate saying that word) in our class. I was commenting to my lad that i was a midget compared to him (he is over 6ft high). I hadn't realised that the "smaller" lad was infront of us and i immediatly went bright red. Now i get awkward speaking of midgets or dwarfs incase he takes offence. I don't mean any harm by it and im not speaking of anyone but myself when i say them but i have heard that "little people" can take offence if someone bigger then themselves says that they are dwarfs or midgets.

Actually a comment like that may or may not be racist, because your statement has two different possible interpretations:

1. "I am too white and because being white is so awesome no-one would ever lock me up" (the racist interpretation)
2. "I am too white and because the system is racist and favours white people, no-one would ever lock me up" (the non-racist interpretation)

The first examples is condoning racism, while the second example is just pointing out that discrimination is a fact that exists in society, which is a fundamentally non-racist thing to point out, because racists tend to believe that discrimination does not exist in society and therefore wouldn't be pointing that out (unless they're really thick), yeah? Tell that to your sensitive black friend if a similar issue comes up again.

I've never said such stuff but one friend I used to hang out with saw an indian man and repeatly called him. "Bud bup."

After a small chase, I just kneed him in the stomach calling him a bloody twat. (Yes, I'm English.)

Much like BonsaiK, I don't think this was racist of you. You were simply criticizing the racism of others, in this case the decision-makers of your country's judicidal system. Or to put it simply, pointing out how others are racist.

It's something me and our friends do all the time. Should a black person join in on the conversation, he would pretty quickly see us as racist, as our jokes tend to take the form of us expressing our own opinions as if we were stereotypical racists. Won't name any groups who would fit that description, because that actually WOULD be meant as offensive.

I tend to make slightly racist jokes, but with no malicious intent. And they are always very tame (and never directed at anyone) >_>
Okay, now Ive covered my ass.. :D

For instance, whenever something happens on TV or in a movie, I like to say "Why the black guy gotta go first?"
(Btw yes I am white ._.)

I've never said anything directly to someone though xD I just like to make jokes!

I make racist jokes all the time with close friends. Where I live every single person is some weird racial mixture and it's always a rich mine of humour. We all know we're not serious about it though, we just like talking shit. And we certainly don't make any public racist statements (except those taking the piss out of our own races). People need to stop being so precious about stuff like this. In the public sphere it's understandable, but privately, you should be able to say what the hell you like.
