I'm playing it throught for the first time on normal, And it seems really hard. Is it or do I just suck.

Yeah it is pretty difficult at first because you die in like 2 hits, but it really forces you to make tactical decisions which I liked.

You're certainly not alone in this respect. A few areas in certain levels forced me to retry a few times.
I found the key thing is to really get out there and try different approaches to heavily defended areas, perhaps a different route through a series of troublesome rooms or even let your AI mates take some of the attention with cover fire while you do the sneaky sneak and hit them on the flank side

Your teammates are more-or-less immortal, they make good bullet sponges. Feel free to use them to scout ahead and deal with threats using a clear command at a door prior to entering a room or telling them to toss grenades.
They can go down and get back up, you can't. Let them do the risky stuff while you hang back to save them if they do go down.

You just have to learn how the game works. You can't just run in like with Halo or COD and expect to win. Especially the later levels, where you have to set your team up at a certain place and both go in at just the right moment or else the terrorists massacre you. After a while you'll get used to it. It's not hard just different.
I really haven't found it to be that hard, as soon as I could I picked up the sniper rifle (I think the hunting) and I just pick off most of the enemies without them even reacting, close quarters I just send in the npcs to breach every other room and follow behind.
While I don't remember it as being hard, I seem to remember that it was very tactical. If you make the wrong tactical decision, you or one of your teammates is screwed.
Yeah that game is hard, especially on realism. So many times I thought I'd give up, but no I pushed through. Felt great after I beat it.
It wasn't too bad till I got to the one Casino level (there's obviously only one >.>) where you have to ascend that escalator. At that checkpoint, both of my primary weapons were empty. I JUST had a pistol. I just couldn't do it. That escalator is murder to go up with actual guns, let alone a fucking pistol.
